How-To: Wool Soaker Pants From Old Sweaters
Wardrobe Refashion participant, The Sewing Dork, shares how she salvages thrifted wool sweaters and transforms them in to wool soaker pants for her child.
As a cloth diaper mom, I was a little dismayed to find that wool soaker pants (the alternative to plastic diaper covers) were so expensive. Enter the affordable Goodwill wool sweater: from one previously loved sweater, I can make at least two pairs of pants, and I have fun making tunics to match.

How-To: Fanny Pack
I had been in denial about the 80s coming back into fashion, but I don't think I can deny it any longer. Even if you don't think fanny packs are hip again, this threadbanger tutorial is a great primer on deconstructing thrift store finds.

T-Shirt Quilt

T-Shirt Quilt
by Michelle Kempner
I have always enjoyed cooking and baking with a recipe. I like to follow exact instructions and then, hopefully, there are no surprises. Other people like to make it up as they go along, adding dashes of different flavors until they arrive at a taste they like. However, I have made a few t-shirt quilts following specific directions and they never turn out the way I want. They always end up too square and blocky. Since I had a number of cute t-shirts that I didn't wear anymore (from the cluttered days of my Threadless addiction), I decided to experiment with making a freestyle, dash-of-this-pinch-of-that t-shirt quilt.

How-To: Long Skirt to Summer Shirt
Jona of Stop Staring and Start Sewing shares how she transformed this long "hippie" skirt into a breezy summer shirt.
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Woodstock I took my hippie skirt and turned it into a hippie shirt. I've had this skirt for probably ten years and I think I've actually worn it once (it ended up looking better on the hanger than on me). But I really like the look of it. The nubby fabric, the cotton crocheted lace, the ruffle. All cute. So I found a way to redeem it.
