Vickie Howell CRL Podcast with SNL's Will Forte

Vickie Howell talks to one of Saturday Night Live's funny man Wil Forte in her CRL podcast. I've been a fan of SNL since high school in the 80's and it's great to hear how this comedian learned to knit from Vickie back in 2005, as well some background on SNL and the writers strike. You have to subscribe to this podcast because I love listening to it as I work. Pictured above is Will and Vickie as featured in Knit.1 in 2005. Link.

With this month's, NaKniSweMo Susan gives us key reminders to help us finish our sweaters before the end of the month. Also, if you are in the Bay Area, stop by Noe Knit on Thursday, Nov 29 at 7pm to show off your finished sweater in the sweater celebration fashion show! Link.

Laure Drogoul's Amplified Knitting

The fabulous store Atomic Pop in Baltimore recently hosted a book reading with KnitKnit author Sabrina Gschwandtner, which also featured artist Laure Drogoul's amplified knitting project. As the Baltimore Sun notes:
Depending on the knitters' numbers, their speed and Drogoul's soundboard manipulations of wooden, plastic and steel needles, both fat and slender, a unique acoustic universe is revealed. It may conjure the echoing footsteps of someone spelunking blindly in a cavernous room. Or it may evoke the collective heartbeat of a knitting bee, lost in the repetitive rhythm of handiwork.
More info at the Baltimore Sun online. Link.
