Repurposed Zipper Bag

Kim Chaloner repurposed her Robeez (baby shoes) bag to work a two color knitting project. The rope handle can be removed, creating two perfect coated holes for yarn. I've seen these plastic zippered bags for other products, too, and the smooth surface allows the yarn to spin around the ball inside quite easily. Perfect for traveling with a multi-color project, which can often be a nightmare. - Link.

Okay, so I know we've covered craft-related tattoos before, but look at this this thing--it's amazing! The Lone Knitta posted this in the CRAFT Flickr group and says her ink was done at Peacock Tattoo in Jacksonville, FL. Leftover Yarn Baby Booties

Gloria writes in about this free pattern for baby booties, made from small scraps of yarn you have around. SockPixie writes:
My biggest problem as a sock knitter, is what to do with my left over yarn, in particular with these no bigger than a walnut darling balls of yarn. These slippers are magic to work. NO SEAMS at all, no origami construction, all garter stitch, mostly knit in the round, and about one pair per hour! My promise to myself is that I will knit a pair of slippers for every pair of socks I knit, and that I will donate the slippers to my local community health center.

Old Fashioned Muff - CRAFT Pattern Podcast

Download the Pattern PDF | Subscribe in iTunes
Here's a fun knit accessory that you don't often see, the Old Fashioned Muff by Sharon Turner of Monkeysuits. It's great for keeping your hands warm in a stylish and fun way. A muff is also good when you don't want to be continually removing and putting on gloves. This version is knit in the round as a long tube starting with half the lining, then working the outer section, then back to the liner. The Fair Isle pattern is easy to work, too, because it's all knitting, and no purling. Hurrah for that!

Sharon Turner is author of such books published by Wiley like Teach Yourself Visually Knitting and Find your Style, and Knit it too. Find out all about her knitting books here - Link.
This pattern is the featured Wiley Crafter Pattern of the Month! You can check out more free patterns at Wiley here. - Link.
