CRAFT Pattern Podcast: Knit Bicycle Ear Warmers by Amy O'Neill Houck
This week's CRAFT Pattern Podcast features knit and crochet designer, Amy O'Neill Houck's knit bike helmet ear warmers that are fast and easy to make. Amy says, "Year-round bicycle commuters know that rain and wind can chill our ears and lower your body temperature making your ride umpleasant. These easy-to-knit wool ear covers are designed to slide onto bike helmet straps. They're warm and they'll stay put." You can see more of Amy O'Neill Houck's needlework on her blog, The Hook and I.

Craftsanity Continental Knitting Demo (Video)
Jennifer of Craftsanity visits City Knitting owner, Lorilee Feltman, who shows us how to knit Continental in this great video demo. I've heard so many stories about us crafters getting RSS (repetitive stress syndrome) and I've gotten it myself to the point where alternating how you knit really does help. [ via ]

Walker Treasury Knit Swatch Project
Karrie from Girl on the Rocks says, "This site is just getting started, but I bet a lot of your readers would like to participate. The goal of the site is to use color photographs to document all the knitting stitch patterns in the Barbara Walker 'Treasury of Knitting Patterns" Series (oh, and Mosaic knitting, too). Volunteers knit a swatch (which they get to keep) and then post a photograph to the site. The patterns will not be posted because they are protected by copyright, and to start out there will be only one photograph for each pattern. This has the potential to be an excellent resource for all knitters! Volunteer swatchers wanted! Check out the webpage for particiation details. " Photos above, Karrie's own Walker Tresuries books and below the Two-Color Dip Stitch by missbitesalot. [ via ] Link.

CRAFT Pattern Podcast: Chez Plum Isabeau Purse

This week's CRAFT Pattern Podcast is the knit Isabeau Purse from Sylvie of Chez Plum. The Isabeau purse is a quick little knit, using a very easy lace pattern. It's an ideal project to use up odds and ends, as you'll need only one skein of yarn (approx.100-120 yds).
It will hold a wallet and a cell phone, as shown in the second pic. The purse also uses basic crochet skills to join the sides of the bag. Check out Sylvie's tutorial on how to do that here.
