Morse Code Knit Hat
Rosemary writes:
Craftster.org member wessles knitted this awesome hat for one of her friends. It appears to be just a regular hat, but closer inspection reveals that the yellow dots are actually morse code! The hidden message is "I'm not wearing underwear today!", which is think is absolutely hilarious!
Check out craftster.org for more photos of the Morse Code knit hat. - Link.

Interweave's Official 2007 Stitch N' Pitch Pattern: Knit Baseball Cap
Interweave Press posted online its official 2007 Stitch N' Pitch pattern - the knitted baseball cap, from Vicki Square's book, Folk Hats. This sample is offered in red, white, and blue but can be created in any combination of team colors. What's special about this design is that the hat is worked from crown to top. The crown facing is worked in the round, then stitches are worked back and forth in rows, using the intarsia technique for the color work. The crown is sewn together along the center back. The brim and its facing are knitted separately, sewn together, then sewn to the lower edge of the crown. It's deceptively simple to knit, and the cotton yarn and thin layer of vinyl-faced foam in the brim make this hat washable, always a key feature when you consider the abuse these hats can take. Also available online is Interweave's 2006 Stitch N' Pitch pattern for the knitted and embroidered baseball sock. Link.

I had no idea that the greek take out cozy that I mentioned in yesterday's post was actually first a CRAFT cozy that was entered in by Jenn of half birthday in the Etsy/CRAFT contest. I also like her knit greek deli bag pictured here with her inspiration that started it all. Thanks Jenn! Link.
