Turn your garden into a go-to source for fresh floral accessories with this fresh flower pin tutorial that Portland, Oregon florist Anna Mara shared on Design Sponge!

I love the idea of taking a big, fresh bloom and using it as an accessory, especially on a bag or clutch. This project would be perfect for weddings, parties or any day you need an extra dose of prettiness.

mural_maker_15_minute_dip_dot_flowers.jpg

Painting is a craft skill that falls squarely on my to-improve list. As much as I want to add painting to my crafting arsenal, I'm often too impatient to get the results I want. Thankfully, Colleen from Mural Maker and More shared this dipdot flower painting tutorial, which shows you how to make realistic-looking painted flowers in 15 minutes flat! After looking through the full how-to, I think I'm ready to break out the paints and give it a try!

Project: Kokedama String Garden

craftzine_string_garden_11.jpg

The first time I saw a kokedama string garden was right here, on Craftzine. Being a bonsai and ikebana enthusiast, I was captivated by yet another amazingly beautiful Japanese gardening method. I've hung my kokedama outdoors, where it sways a bit in the breeze, and I couldn't love it more.

The steps are simple, with the most important aspect being the mixture of clay and soil. Try to achieve a blend of mud that clings together well. When encasing the plant, you will feel a bit like a sculptor, and in essence, you are sculpting the earth into something fairly impossible — a perfectly round hanging garden.

How-To: Realistic Duct Tape Roses

Realistic-Duct-Tape-Rose.jpg

This is the prettiest duct tape project I've seen. Jason Smith offers us a video on how to make these red roses on Instructables. All you need is duct tape, Sharpies, wire, and a pair of scissors. Red is perfect for next week, but I'm going to try this in yellow tape for a long-lasting spring bouquet.

Felt Leaf Garland Tutorial

feltleaves.jpg feltleaves2.jpg

Leaves and felt seem made for each other, and I know we've posted about felt leaf projects before (most recently this charming Fall Leaf Felt Garland), but I love the techniques used in this Felt Leaf Garland tutorial on Instructables. Using flour to outline the shapes and gently painting the edges for some fall color is brilliant!

How-To: Autumn Leaf Bouquet

designsponge_leaf_rose.jpg

Why press beautiful fall leaves in books when you can display them for all to see? Kate Hurst shared her Autumn Leave Bouquet tutorial on Design Sponge, and it's got me thinking about warm apple cider, pumpkin picking, collecting pretty leaves at my grandma's farm, and all things wonderfully fall! Now, can someone in NYC please point me in the direction of leaves that aren't yellow and brown?
