All the softies finalists are announced for the Holiday Softie Awards! Check them out here and vote for you favorites! - Link.

Handmade Analog Pac Gentleman

doktor_a_pac_gentleman3.jpg

Doktor A, an artist and sculptor, has handcrafted this Pac Man game, the Pac Gentleman. He writes:
When this game was first released in 1880 it was so hugely popular in taverns and inns that the bank of England was forced to mint more threepenny bits to keep up with demand. The game was created by messrs Nam & Nam and Co. as a novelty pastime for the masses. Outdoing the previous top public house game of Shove Ha'penny.
I love the mustaches on the ghosts. - [via] Link.

I'd like to introduce Big Craftie, the supersized version of our magazine's mascot, as designed, sewn, and stuffed full o' love by Heidi Kenney of MyPaperCrane. He made his debut at Maker Faire in Austin this last October, but if you keep an eye out at various craft events throughout the holiday season, you may just get to meet Big Craftie in person! Link.
