How-To: Felt Jellyfish

felt_jellyfish.jpg

On our first visit to the Texas Gulf Coast, my daughter was stung by a jellyfish. Ever since, she kind of flips out when she sees pictures of them. I'm thinking this sweet felt jellyfish project from Melissa of Checkout Girl might be just the thing to help my daughter see them in a whole new light. Melissa's hand-drawn pattern is delightful, and can be used to create a 3D version or applique.

Although you think that these would be something she might not mind.. I'd think again. I was terrorized by a pack of mice as a child - it was no fun. My mother thought it would be a good idea to give me "mouse" related items each Christmas - a fuzzy stuffed mouse-y ornament, a small ceramic mom and dad mouse, just anything and everything with a mouse on it. I would throw out the "gifts" as soon as I would open them and think "Why is she continuing to torture me?". I hate mice - can't stand them. And that my mother doesn't "get it" and continues the terror each year is simply child abuse in my book.
