Bacon Starry Night

Welcome to August, Crafters! Our theme for this month is a new one - and yet, not really that new at all. We'll be focusing on Quirky Crafts, which are projects that are a little funny and very original, and often help us see making things in new ways.

To some extent, we feature quirky crafts here on CRAFT all the time. This post is illustrated with some of my favorite recent examples. This month, however, we'll turn up the volume a little and bring you some quirky gems, like how to throw your own pie-fight party and how to turn oven mitts into a fantastic floor covering.

Our Summer Camp theme continues for one more month as well. If your kids are finding themselves bored more often these days, never fear. We'll have some fun activities for all ages, including ice crayons, pop-up puppets, and your very own pasta monster.

...Come to think of it, those are pretty quirky, too!
