How-To: Silk Ribbon Embroidered Pillow Cases

how_to_silk_ribbon_embroidery_pillowcases.jpg

I teach a silk ribbon embroidery class at the Stitch Lab here in Austin, and I'm always on the lookout for fun and modern applications of the craft to share with my students, as some ribbon embroidery can be a bit .... well ... frumpy. I love the simplicity of this set of ribbon embroidered pillow cases from Molly's Sketchbook at the Purl Bee. It's a nice beginner project for ribbon embroidery. A few commenters asked about the washability of ribbon embroidery, so I did a little research on the subject and found this article helpful.

Slightly unrelated but where might one go to find out how to create an embroidery pattern?
