Knit Slippers

I have a question about those knit slippers that were in CRAFT: 05. I knitted them, and sent them through the wash twice to shrink them to the size I need. One slipper came out perfect, and fits great, but the other one is just a little too big. Im afraid of sending it through the wash again because I think it will shrink too much. How can I shrink it to the right size?
