For informational purposes, MJ died of cardiac arrest--not at all the same thing as an heart attack.

A little tacky.....

I understand the sentiment behind this post, however I find it a little tacky to post a rendition of MJ's unfortunate mug shot. Wasn't there any other MJ inspired pieces out there that would be more appropriate for the given circumstance?

Believe me, I looked and looked and looked. However, I think this one represents pretty well the cultural impact that he's had, given all that lead up to the photograph on which this artwork is based. I welcome links to glitter portraits, which is what I was originally looking for.

Agreed . . . well meant, but tacky . . .

I agree with the first comment - this particular image of Michael Jackson doesn't celebrate his life in a positive way. The artist specifically chose the mugshot of Jackson taken for his child molestation court case and used "kid's breakfast cereals" to render it. As a memorial, this one misses the boat. Perhaps one of him in his outrageous yet fashion inspiring outfits could work?

Who Cares

So what and who cares that the portrait is made out of kids cereal its a conceptual piece of art that is awesome. Yes it doesn't highlight the awesome life he had. But unfortunately that's how most people remember him. Funny how now that Michael Jackson is dead people protect him. I think it would have been funnier if the artist used plastic noses for this piece. no?
