Very cool idea but...

Check your local laws before going through the effort-- riding 2 adults on a non-tandem bike is illegal in NYC.

Fabulous idea!

I think this is terrific on so many levels -- it looks good, it's useful in more than one way, and it encourages bikepooling instead of carpooling. Love it!
