Whst a beautiful pallette of color-Can you imagine the joy of receiving a quilt as an expression of love or comfort or promise!! I'd love the opportunity to colorfully extend blessing.
Okay, I think the more accurate question is "what wouldn't I make?"
I'd probably focus on updating my wardrobe to look a little more "grown up" and professional. Quilts might happen. A new bedspread would be nice. A dress for the wedding I have to attend this summer. Luxurious PJs. Like I said, what wouldn't I make?
Haha! Oh well!
This is kind of a funny story. A few months ago my roommate moved out unexpectedly, leaving me with double the rent, and no living room furniture to sit on. After I finally found a new roommate, we still didn't have a couch. I found one on craigslist for 90 bucks (something I really can't afford since I'm in school, working less, and working on my senior thesis in ceramic sculpture). Despite the lack of funds, I got a hold of the owner, and she agreed to sell it to me for 75. However, she never showed up and never contacted me after we first spoke. One day my (new) roommate told me about her uber-Christian aunt who always criticized her for not being as christian as she was. Apparently this lately, despite all of the criticism towards others, would pray for material objects such as couches. Jokingly, I folded my hands and prayed to God that I wanted "a pink, orange, or red antique couch for free". The next day I looked on craigslist and there it was! I waited by my cell until I knew the owner got out of work, and once I called her it was mine! Maybe I should pray more often...
Anyway, I would totally appreciate the funds to reupholster the couch. Although it's completely fabulous, it could certainly use a touch up!
Here's a pic: http://twitpic.com/30bqf
With the rest of the money, I would make my mom a quilt. She made me one out of all of our old clothing when I went off to college. Now that she's gone through a divorce recently, she doesn't have much stuff. I'd like to do something nice for her.
I would donate some of the fabric to our school. Five years ago they eliminated the home economics course here in our middle school. The art teacher and I saved the sewing machines from the trash and he has incorporated soft sculpture into his curriculum so the kids can still learn how to sew. With so many fabric/craft stores closing, he always has trouble keeping enough fabric on hand for the kids sculptures.
I would also make some quilts for the 'Quilts for Kids' Quilts for Kids transforms fabric into quilts that comfort children with cancer, AIDS, and other life-threatening illnesses as well as battered & abused children. If possible I would involve the kids at school in creating these quilts, too.
I'd some fabulous summer dresses.
Need new summer outfits! So that's where the fabric would go :-)
The females in my family and I are going to have a purse making craft day, so I would use the fabric to make the patchwork purse of my dreams!
i love fabric!! :)
Dresses, cat tents, dolls, picnic blankets ... possibilities are endless!
...I would probably spend about an hour trying to find a spot to put it while my boyfriend griped at me about having yet more craft stuff. *grin* Then, I'd give up and start 6 sewing projects all at once. I'm thinking at least 3 pieces of garb for Ren Faire, some additional room decorations, and some pillows for my little cousin's dolls.
OOh, this is an awesome give away and I would love to win! I would certainly up my quilt productions! :)
A giant quilt that I can work on to keep myself sane as I pursue my doctorate degree, and that I can pass on to my grandchildren
Uhm WOW!! Where do I start. I have been wanting to get some home dec. fabrics for my house, and also I'd like to make some spring tops for myself. Also, tons of stuff for my kids!
Apologies if this turns up as a duplicate comment -- I waited and my first one didn't seem to post.
I'd make at least one quilt! And lots of twirly dresses!!
I would make curtains for our new house! Or something else for the new house!
I would start on a new, stylish summer wardrobe for myself after my weight loss!!
Oh my goodness...I would make so many things! At least one quilt and five dresses for my girlies. :)
I would make little girl purses and tote bags, and I've been dreaming about making curtains for my laundry room, and my craft room, and.....
well silly, a quilt, of course.
It would be so amazing to win!
I would make a baby quilt for my new nephew and for my friend who's about to have a baby. Then I'd get some awesome printed oilcloth so I can finally make that collapsible dog bowl I saw posted on Craftzine. The only oilcloth I've been able to find in stores near me is ug-ug-ugly, but fabric.com has so many wonderful options!
Fingers crossed,
juleen.
i would made summer clothes for my 2 year old and a quilt for the baby i hope comes in the next year.
I feel lightheaded thinking of all the things I could do with that much fabric... Whee!
Wow. I'd love to have some fabric so I could make some Spring related items!
Thanks for the opportunity to win.
If I won the gift certificate, I would make a whole bunch of things for different people. A purse for my sister, a apron for my roommate, a stuffed animal for the little ones, and other gifts for friends and family.
I am spiffing up the shelves I mounted on my living room wall to give my 5 cats (in a one bedroom apt.) some more vertical climbing space. Some cool fabric would be great for this project.
I would make cute summer jumpers for me and my friends! we'd frolic around san francisco on bikes in our little jumpers and keds...
Oh I'd love to win that gift certificate!!
If I were to win, I would jumpstart my knitting needle holder business on Etsy (which is pretty non-existent right now). I'd also sew some clothes for my son's bear, Barnaby.
I'd make a new quilt-the quilt I made in high school that we use on the sofa is slowly disingrating.
I would make my first quilt! Or possibly some pj bottoms, and some pretty dresses to wear swing dancing.
I would make lots of stuff. Like a quilt and a load of reusable bags and morsbags and stuffies and and and... ahhhh... I could make so much stuff.
Felicia
That fabric looks fantastic! I'd make toys for the upcoming sale I am doing for the American Cancer Society.
Concetta
I would make onesies for my newborn, puppets for my toddler, and gifts for friends!

I would love to win this fabric. I need to learn how to use my sewing machine and this would be a great opportunity. I could make a nice spring quilt to begin with and some pillows. I would like to learn how to make bags so I can have a variety for myself.
Would be a great thing to win as i'm just re-starting my sewing.
I would sew sweet little outfits for my daughter, who's 2 and loves "outfits", and matching outfits for her doll, even though he's a boy and his name is "Baby Boy". I don't think I'd leave the house for days, I'd just sew, and sew, and sew. In a a dreamlike trance of happiness...
I'd make some bibs for all my friends having the babies now, some teddy bears, a purse for my sister, some neat little pouches for those on Team Bride, and I'd figure out something for myself- I'm thinking a fun skirt. Or an apron with matching ovenmitts/tea towels.
I would love to win and use the fabric to make a quilt for my mother. She survived a mastectomy and heart valve replacement surgery last year only to lose my father in October after 50+ years of marriage. She always make quilts for everyone else, it would be nice for her to have one just for her.
And I'd use anything left to make my 3 year old daughter a quilt. Any scraps I could use to make some of the adorable scrap items - like the apples and fabric Easter eggs that Craft has posted on Twitter recently!
I would sew until my fingers bled...quilts, clothes, accessories, the possibilities are endless!
Oh. My. Gosh. I am having trouble breathing. This is probably the best giveaway I have ever seen. Ok, let's see, I would definitely make some clothes for my little guy, something for our dog (she needs to look cute too!), I'm thinking some pillows for our camper, the list is endless...please, oh please let me win!!!
...a new quilt for my master bedroom. It's draped in solid color quilts right now and could use some additional splashes of color.
I just love the feeling you get when you walk into a well stocked fabric store. Tingling, and excitement over the marvelous things you can create!
I want to make my bridesmaid dress to wear to my best friend's wedding that is coming up faster than anyone realizes. I also want to win this so we can make a dress to wear to her rehearsal dinner. Please let me win!
Wow this is amazing. I'd make quilts for flood victims in North Dakota (where I live).
i love fabric.com and have lots of projects planned, including a quilt for my son to use on the new bed he's getting for his birthday and some dresses for my daughter's birthday.
What wouldn't I make? I'd probably start with some colorful but warmer clothing items-- this abnormally cold spring has found me lacking in things to wear because I'm so sick of my winter clothes! And depending on the capacity I'm involved, there's a good chance I'll need a dress to wear to my brother's wedding (he's getting engaged this weekend!)
WOW, I could finally make thing I have been dreaming about.
I have just fallen in love with sewing again afer a 10 year break. My lastest projects have been pillows and children's aprons. With this fabric, the projects would be endless. I have wanted to start making some purses/totes and many more items. This fabric would be PERFECT!
Now that Spring is finally on its way, I've been wanting the perfect sun dress. Sure, I don't NEED to start yet another project, but it's free fabric! What better excuse is there?!
i would totally make all that stuff i haven't made because i don't have any really cool fabric! yay!
I'd use the fabric to finish up the three unfinished objects I have in my sewing room, and the rest would go toward our quilting guild's project of making lap quilts for people injured during their military service.
I'd start with pillow covers for all of the throw pillows in my living room. They came with the couch and I've never cared for the pattern. Then I'd start in on next year's Christmas presents... reusable tote bags for all of my friends and family.
With all that fabric? I'd finally get to make my first quilt (and a beautiful one at that)... and then I would make my second quilt!
I would use some fabric to finish a beautiful quilt started by my great-grandmother about 45 years ago so I could give the quilt to my mom for Mother's Day! I'd very happily use it to make handmade gifts (quilts, purses, skirts, cute curtains) and to jazz up my living room with happy-patterned-pillows. I'm thinking some lovely patterned fabric might also inspire my friends to start sewing... :)
This would be so great...I would make childrens dresses and scarves, bags, curtains, quilts...the possibilities are endless!
And then I'd make all kinds of baby quilts.
I would sew a quilt and some mama clothing and gifts of course!
I think this is an awesome prize!
With the material Iwill do lots of "green" bags to give away!
OHHHHH pick me pick me... There are to many things to put in one e-mail, but I would make placemats, kids stuff, headbands, bags.... all kinds of things.

After making a dress that actually fits me, I would make toys for my kids and gifties for PIF's.
The question should be, what wouldn't I make?! I love to sew and craft. Now that I am under-employed (ie: part-time work), I would love some free fabric to make things to sell on my soon-to-be launched etsy store.
I would make a quilt for each of my kids, and one for my husband and me.
I am so excited about this contest! I really want to make my parents a King size quilt for their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year. My Mom always makes quilts for everyone but herself, and this prize would go a long way to making them a fabulous quilt.

What a great contest! Would love to win this and there are so many projects that could be done: quilts, purses, totes, pillowcases, table runners, placemats and on and on...
Oh, gosh - the kids have been outgrowing so many clothes, so the first thing would be to make clothes for them. Then I'd decorate their room: bedspread duvets, curtains (and finally get rid of the broken blinds), sheets, pillows - and if there's any left over, more curtains for elsewhere in the house, and maybe even a cute outfit for myself. And a new cage cover for Casey, the cockatiel, so he'll sleep better at night! Maybe even a quilt to replace the one dh and I have (it's falling apart).
Thanks for the drawing - love it!

I'm in my last year of my undergraduate studies in Philadelphia. In the current economy, a friend of mine and I are scheming ways to still do what we love most, create, while turning a profit. We plan on opening an Etsy store and selling our wares at community art events like First Friday. The fabric will surely be an invaluable asset since our crafts include poi, clothing, and kanzashi. She is a fashion design major while I study digital media, so this would be an awesome opportunity to explore my passions with the Arduino by integrating the Lilypad into our products.
I won't let you down, CRAFT! I promise we'll have lots of fun things to share.
$250 in fabric!!! That's a most generous and fabulous giveaway!
What a great giveaway! As a student on a limited budget I'm always having to limit how many fun sewing projects I can tackle. This would go a long way towards fulfilling some of my sewing daydreams. I think I would make a dress or two for the zillion weddings that seem to be scheduled in the next 6 months...and maybe a matching purse or two.
Cheers~
I would make twinkling light-up summer dresses for my daughter and me with LilyPad Arduino and LEDs and this beautiful fabric...
Oooooohhhhh, $250 dollars can buy a lot of dreaming! Fabric for a quilt, I'm sure, as quilting is my biggest love, but I'm sure I will figure out other smaller projects as well, as I'm branching out a lot more with my sewing & craft projects.

If I won, I'd try to beef up my stash of quality knit fabrics. I have no local source and I would really like to make more knit tops and dresses. I've seen some lovely knits on fabric.com. I also might be tempted to buy some of the pretty wool I've seen to make a coat (although the season is ending...)
Nice contest! The prize stash would be used on the usual suspects: aprons, pouches, shopping totes. And the scraps for pincushions and other needlework paraphernalia.

With 4 grandchildren, I'd have no problem deciding what to do with all that fabulous fabric! They'd all love to have another one of Grannas quilts, as they think they have outgrown their 'toddler' quilts I made them when they were small. But secretly, they still sleep with them! LOL
Barbara in TN

http://www.dork-a-thon.com/?p=204
If I won, I would definitely find the perfect fabric I have needed for the quilt I've been thinking about for months! I'd also use the rest to help with my new years resolution of making gifts rather than buying them. I'm crossing my fingers!
I'd most likely pass the fabric on to a purse-obsessed friend who would make wonderful bags or even use it with her kindergarteners for some kid-friendly craft project.
I would use the fabric to reupholster the seats in the RV we bought to bring to burning man.
This RV is going to be around for a while so we are going all out decorating it!!

I would make skirts for me and shirts for my husband. Then finally get started on that quilt I have always wanted to try
I would make dresses and bags to sell so that I can quit my job!
I have a project that's been waiting for just the right fabric. My father passed away in November and I have all his old t-shirts. Silly ones (his favorite was a hot pink one with "Wierd" on it, with a HUGE "O" underneath it - get it? Wierdo!), many that were gifts from my sister and me, shirts from his granddaughter's colleges, shirts representing his hobbies (fishing, remote control airplane, gardening), even some from places he and mom lived during their 54 years together (West Virginia, St. Louis, Kwajalein, Memphis). I have all the shirts cut and divided into three piles to make a quilt for my mom, my sister and me. I think the border and backing fabric I'd use is "Ron's World - Words of Wisdom Sky". I'd buy 20 yards ($120). He would have been 80 on May 24 - and I'd love to finish at least mom's by then. This particular fabric represents him so well - he was such an intelligent, loving, supportive, funny, reliable father and grandfather. I miss him so much.
The list doesn't end but mostly, I would love to start working on that summer quilt I have planned for my bed, as well as making some lovely summer clothes...
I would also make books, pretty, ornate, fabric covered books...
I would try my hand at an art quilt for the FIRST TIME EVER. I am a studio art major and could make some pretty rad and unique things for critiques.
What would I make? Probably clothes for my kids, gifts for Christmas, maybe some cloth napkins. Perhaps I could even try my hand at a quilt?
So I've got this (my) wedding coming up in October and I need to make a messload of decorations and I was planning on using fabric for it! Fabric covers for the mason (flower) jars, fabric flowers with throwies (LED lights) for the walls, and I had previously ruled out tablecloth runners in a sporty fabric because of the expense, but I could even make those too! (and it would be so awesome) This goes beyond draping, ladies and gentlemen, I've got big dreams!
Not to mention the bridesmaid gifts and the flower girl gift and the flower basket and all these ways I wanted to incorporate beautiful fabrics. Whee!
getting ready for a clothy wedding. (and if you have an idea of something I could sew for an 11 year old boy, I would love to hear it. I'm drawing blanks here.)
I'm dying to make a new dress for my brother's wedding! I'd love to win!
I would make both my girls new bedding & curtains! New spring skirts for me & them as well. Ohhh the possibilities of that much money in a fabric store...sighhhh..good to dream, isn't it?
Wow! I could make a lot with $250 worth of fabric. Let's see - a quilt, a bag, a skirt, some flannel baby blankets, new pillows. At least all of that and more (who knows how long it would take me, though!).
If I won the fabric I would make fantastic fabric napkins with a pocket for travel bamboo spork for all my friends. And a quilt.
What a great giveaway! I would love to win. I would pick glorious fabrics out and when they came in the mail I would open them and lay them all out. Then I would "pet" them and stare at them. Next I would prewash and stare and touch them some more. Finally I would begin project making. Clothes, toys, and quilts. I love to create!!! What a great giveaway!
Man nothing like a giveaway to get the comments rolling! :)
If you pick me, I will use the fabric to make all the handmade gifts I can muster, probably making my sewing machine cry in the process, as well as finally conquering my fear of big quilts... how can you be afraid of quilting when you have a pile of beautiful fabric to work with!?
Congrats in advance to whoever wins this windfall, but an even *bigger* congrats to all the lucky recipients of all the fun stuff I'll make if *I* win!! :)
My oldest daughter will be starting school in the fall and she really needs some nice clothes to wear. She has been wearing mostly hand-me-downs and thrift store finds since she was born, and is rapidly outgrowing them.
I would really love to be able to make her some nice outfits to wear to school. I have been drafting patterns for her already, but have been trying to decide how to afford the fabric. I am on a very tight budget, so even a "new" wardrobe from the thrift store would be a burden on our family.
I would also make some clothes for my youngest daughter, who is wearing her sisters hand-me-down hand-me-downs. She's two, and I would love for her to have at least a couple of outfits that are new to her. If I could win this gift certificate it would help us out tremendously.
Thanks,
Jenny
I would use the GC to make a quilt. I have only made a baby quilt and have been wanting to make a full size quilt for sometime. $250 would get me all my fabrics and then some! What a great give-away.
I'm just starting to get into making clothing, so I think it would go toward that. My sister is pregnant and expecting in October, and I know I could make some awesome baby outfits!
So many projects. . .so little time. I'd make curtains and dresses for my girls. Thanks!
We only have a source for quilting fabric nearby. Clothing and other fabrics are 250 miles away, so this would give me a great help for fabrics to make stuff for the grandkids. I have all kinds of patterns and ideas from the net, but no fabrics! I may add to my quilt stash also :)
$250 of fabric...be still, my heart!
Have tried to comment two times before, keep getting an error message. Hope this time works.
I would make a quilt. haven't been able to justify the expense, but if I won I wouldn't have to. Yeah!
I can totally jump start my wardrobe! It would compliment the new Singer sewing machine my mother just gave me! :)
If I win I'd finally make my first quilt. Also, if I win my husband would make me new shelves for all my fabrics!
What a dream come true...I would love to win this. I would make a couple quilts and maybe some cute baby clothes for friends.
If you pick me I will make my two year old daughter some adorable clothes for this summer and fall.
Thanks for the opportunity!
-Jodie Cord
hi, thx for the offer!
I would love to use the fabric to make gift bags for my family and friends, to continue my efforts to reduce the amount of trash produced. I would also make re-useable shopping bags. I think that fabric re-useable gift bags/ shopping bags are a very important step in helping the environment. I hope you agree!
=D
<3!
Oh, my goodness!!!! What WOULDN'T I make?!?!?! :) I would finish the dolls I'm making for my daughters, make them dresses, make a sundress for me, some pants for my husband, make some blankets, get started on the nightgowns for my daughters.....the list is endless. PLEASE PICK ME!!!!!!!! :)
Summer tops! I'm in danger of being naked this summer. I also need to make some curtains for my youngest daughter's room. And maybe I'll have enough to make a quilt, too!
Not to be repetitive, but QUILTS for sure. And maybe I'll get up the guts to attempt pillows!!
Oooh, I love fabric.com! I would buy fabric to finish a lot of quilt projects that I'm working on - borders and backings - plus some fun stuff for future quilt projects.
And toys!
I would use the fabric to make my wedding dress!
Right now, I'm working with scrap fabric to practice some designs and patterns, getting my sewing chops ready for the real thing that has to be done by September. I haven't yet bought the fabric for the wedding dress, so I would be thrilled to win this giveaway!
ooh! ooh! summer dresses! summer dresses!
well... im about to move in with a friend and his apartment is barely decorated. Ill make some curtains and whatever else needs to be made.. im sure there will be leftovers for craft parties!
Thanks.
Good luck all.
=A
ooh! ooh! summer dresses! sumer dresses!
I will make a present for my Mum for Mothers Day.
I would make a quilt, or two, or three. I would also make dresses for myself and I might even make a few toys. It would help me get my confidence up in the sewing department, that's for sure.
I would use it toward making my grandmother a quilt.
My daughter has started raiding my stash to make dolls! She completed a wonderful first run and needs some quality wool felt for bodies and cool cotton prints for clothes. And I wouldn't mind a few things for myself...
With all that fabric I would be able to make an entire summer wardrobe!
What a great giveaway! And a great amount of fabric with 250$: I let my fantasy fly and imagine what I could with it...
Wooowww that would buy a lot of fabric! thats such a generous giveaway, my sewing machine is drooling over the possibilities.
What I would make... I would make everything! I love to make my own bags and clothes that match, little pouches to hold my art supplies to and from class.. I love to make accessories, flower hair buds, fabric covered necklaces and rings... I have so much fun designing plush toys and combining funky and unique patterns to give them life.
Also I really want to make my mother a beautiful dress for her birthday... she hates her body even though she's so beautiful to me, I want to make her something that's going to fit just right and make her feel young and wonderful.
My dad just had a heart attack on Sunday. We live two hours away and it's hard to know that I can't be there every second. If I won $250 worth of fabric, I would make him a quilt, so I could always be there, even when I couldn't.
I can only dream of the dresses and skirts I would make with all this fabric. and making small patchwork gifts for others with whatever remains.
Oh the possibilities are endless! but at this moment, probably hobo / bucket bags and overalls!
Purses, I would make lots of purses with this beautiful fabric!
Great contest! I'd use the fabric to make skirts and dresses for my daughter and me, and cushions for the living-room. The leftovers would be well-used, too, for softies and bags.
I have a new niece named Coral, who was adopted from China last year. She lives in Wisconsin, and I live in Tennessee, but I love to sew for her, it is the way that I stay in touch. I have always keep a list of future sewing projects to make for her:

As you can see, if I win the $250 of fabric, I will have plenty to do...I can't wait to get started! :)
April @ faraboverubies
This prize would give me back the inspiration and motivation I used to have to make gifts and clothing for friends, family, charities, and myself!
Wow the skies the limit... I mean really what couldn't you do with that much at Fabric.com.... hmmm make some outfits for the kids, a new cover for the dog bed, ooo finish the work on my friends baby quilt... perhaps get a pattern or two
Roman blinds for my daughter's room, an upholstered headboard, and a summer table cloth are on my to-do list.
I think I would try and be practical and make some shirts for my new job. Maybe try my hand at pants? And then there are always gifts to make...
Jennifer
Curtains to hid the wiring behind the TV/Game Systems/DVR conundrum my husband has in our living room. Tote bags. Maybe some toys for my pug. Wall art.
As a poor college student who just signed a lease to an apartment, $250 worth of fabric may as well be gold.
bags, bags, bags, bags, little clothes, bags, did i mention BAGS??!
I love fabric.com and just ordered some stuff from them last week! I have so many things I want to make: curtains for my new apartment, bags, skirts, pillows, and lots of lovely little things for my new baby niece.
What couldn't I make with the fabric I'd buy!!! Summer skirts, dresses, tops, house projects, pillows.....
Sharon
I don't even know where to begin with what I would make. I would get fabric to make my first quilt, because I am dying to make one of Anna Maria Horner's patterns. I would get fabric to make at least some of the dozens of patterns I have. I would make my first pair of pants. I would make bags and makeup pouches for gifts. I would get fabric to make all the home dec stuff I'd need when I get a new apartment soon. Oh, the things I could make with $250 worth of fabric!!
I hope you pick me :) although I'm sure who ever you pick will be supremely happy.
I need to make new drapery for my living room. This would be so great.
Thanks Craftzine :)
I would finally get good at sewing without fearing that I'd be wasting fabric. And I'd start to build up a stash equal to my mom's.
i would make that 1950's pattern wrap dress that everyone is so crazy about...
I want to buy lots of Jay McCarroll fabric and make a wrap skirt and a bag. And then I'll need to think of some other stuff to make (a nice problem to have).
Cheers!
Susan
I'm a new sewer with a plan to make all of my Christmas gifts this year - purses, bags, baby blankets... you name it. This would get me started in a great way!
I would make totes, skirts and new summer shirts! Oh the fun I would have!!!
Pick me!
Holly
A QUILT OMG. It would definitely be enough fabric for my first attempt, lol.
I would purchase fabric to make some new clothes for summer.
I would make my first real quilt with real material!!!
The possiblities are endless. Definitly clothes (summer shirts and skirts), clothes for my Blythe doll, purses, christmas gifts in the future, quilts. I could go on and on, but I would definitly make great use of any free fabric I could get my hands on. Oh this would be so awesome! Thank you for the chance to win!!
New curtains would be great!!
I would definitely use it to buy more fabric to complete the quilt I am making for my boyfriend. In complete truth, I never expected to find someone like him.
Oh my! The ideas and options are endless! I would make pillows, bags, a bed cover, baby blankets, kitchen towels, a dog pillow, a cat pillow, a hamster cage cover, a computer monitor cover....
Thanks!
I would get a bunch of fabric to make curtains and cover a chair. Boring, I know!
I would make grandpa pants!
I order all of my fabric from them! They are great, have good prices, a good choice of fabrics and shipping is always free over $35. I would love spending $250 on more fabric! I'd make lots of handbags or some dresses for my daughter.
I would make some hotpants for my upcoming performance as Tina Turner in my Ike and Tina Turner cover band. We're called The Private Dancers, of course.
And some summer dresses. It's 'bout to get HOT in Texas!
I'd make a baby quilt for my niece and some cute new hand bags!
What a fantastic giveaway! If I am the lucky winner, I will make some quilts and other usable gifts for friends who are getting married and having babies this summer. And, most likely some cute summer dresses for myself!
This giveaway is fantastic! If I win I would make summer wardrobes for my two daughters and maybe a little something for myself.
Oh the things I would make!
Pillows, curtains, a new quilt, placemats, wall decor, gifts for friends. Oh, I could go on and on!!! I would share pics of all my projects on my blog giving Craftzine and fabric.com all the glory!!!
Please pick me!!
I would splurge on something fancy to make a dress for my delayed honeymoon. :-)
Wow! With a gift certificate as large as this one, there's enough room to make something for yourself and something to share for sure - especially with the reasonable pricing at fabric.com. No lies, I would probably start out with some great little spring/summer skirts to supplement my work wardrobe and make my life, you know, better :P And then, once I ran out of hangers (which won't be long now :P) I think i would start working on things for Sew Much Comfort...
In order to be closer to my husband's work (he commutes 40 miles right now) we're moving to a house in a very small town that needs some serious help! This would help out so much for fabric for curtains, wall hangings, quilts and other great projects to spruce things up!
This would be so wonderful! I have recentl joined the relm of the SAHM world and am trying increase my "crafting" skills. I have two daughters and would like to start sewing for them, just like my mom and grandma did for me!
Wow! I would make my first ever quilted baby blanket
Where to start....well, I would love some PVC coated fabric or oilcloth to make some reusuable sandwich holders and lunch bags. Also some cute boys knits to make shorts for my booty-less little boy- shorts I buy just don't stay up. I could stretch $250 a long way and have a lot of fun!
Kate
I love creating fabric journals, art dolls, jewelry, dresses for my granddaughters you name it I love doing it!! I would LOVE to win!! Thanks for such a fun contest!!
hugs Linda
With that much fabric, I'd be set for years! I would buy
lots of textured and small print fabrics for the pet portraits I hand applique. I would add so many possibilities for costumes and pup and kitty fur. Thanks!
I'd love to make clothes for my kids and home decor stuff or quilts.
-dresses
-purses
-cool stuffies
-picnic table cloth
Wow, $250 is amazing. I could get loads of fabric to make some gorgeous handbags and other fun accessories for my upcoming craft shows.
And of course I would make a skirt or two for myself and my nieces.
I would love to share with my friends who have just asked for sewing lessons. We have talked about a quilt project and fun skirts for the spring. I love the reversible wrap skirt that you featured recently and am very excited to try it out.
Thank you so much for this wonderful giveaway!!!
since my dd has declared the summer "The Year of the Sundress" there would be lots of sundresses made, one for me, one for her, and then there are the grands, lots for them, maybe with bloomers for modesty. yep! sundresses, whoo hoo!
First I would make quilts for my kiddos, we just moved across country to a place with much colder winters and can use all the blankets we can get. Then I would make some clothes for us.
$250 of fabric... I'm a fabric thriftster so I would get a lot of mileage from $250. Imagine $250 of fat quarters? I could make 10 aprons, 2 sets of placemats, 4 sets of dinner napkins, 2 tea towels and a patchwork table runner. Then I'd probably make a pillowcase or two and would host a lovely giveaway at my blog to prove that I've really put the $250 to good use.
Dare me. I'll follow through.
I would love to win. I would use some to make some clothes with and also baby recieving blankets, as I am needing to give a few as gifts.
I'm always on the lookout for yarn and fabric for a fundraiser I'm doing for Camp Starlight. It's a 2-week summer camp in Oregon for kids who have or whose families have been impacted by AIDS & HIV. And, honestly, I'd probably make myself a skirt or two as well for work.
If I won this ridiculously awesome prize, I would get all kinds of bright colored fabrics & patterns and make smart bags for all of my friends & relatives. Something handmade from my heart that I know each of them would love & use, instead of using plastic bags.
I'd make a TON of stuff and have a blast doing it!!
jaybird[at]acsol.net
I recently bought the pattern for Amy Butler's Chelsea bag which is a reversible tote and I have become obsessed. I have started making colorful reversible bags for everyone I know. I don't have any bold, bright, or patterned fabrics in my stash so I have had to go out and buy fabric for every bag. In some cases, I have even raided the stash of the person for whom I am making the bag!
I would love to win this fabric prize. If I won, there would be fabric and patterns for clothes for me and for my girls and perhaps if there is a little left over some home decor items.
If I won I'd make some clothes for my husband and I. We don't have a lot of money right now but could really use some summer clothes. I haven't been able to sew for a long while because of lack of money and time. If I got the gift certificate I'd have the money and an excuse to make the time ; ).
I'd also make some things to give to charity because I try to always do that when I have the money.
- summer clothes for my 18 mo. old daughter
- summer quilts for my family
- bean bags & dolls for my daughter
I am a member of the Niagara Highland Athletics Club. We organize and run Scottish Games (i.e. we throw telephone poles and other heavy stuff around while wearing kilts). We are very proud of our Celtic heritage! I would use this to make kilts for our junior throwers. A kilt is an expensive investment especially for a growing boy. I make entry level kilts for these kids so they can afford to participate and learn more about Scottish heritage... whether or not their blood runs plaid or not!
I would make kick a$$ outfits for myself, my brother and his girlfriend for RenFest this summer!
I'd make lots of pretty Spring dresses for myself and all my neighbors!
I need another interview suit. This would be the perfect opportunity to make another one. I made some really nice work clothes with some of the light-weight wool suitings from Fabric.com before. They carry the best facbrics.
I have a farmers market booth. I would make cloth dolls and marionettes and pinnies!! With my husband still blessed to have a job but recieving a full third less work, I don't have $$ for fabric (plus the fact that the nearest fabric store is almost 50 miles away) for making items. But, if I won, I might be able to help out the houehold more.
first i *heart* fabric.com BIG time! i currently live overseas in kuwait so i use them ALL the time for my fabric needs! i would so love to win this prize because i've got fabric waiting in a saved cart for me! i live in a furnished apartment and the couches are dingy and a horrible gold color (not to mention that my drapes are the same color too!) so i would love to buy fabric to make pillows to break up all the gold and some fabric to reupholster the even uglier dining chairs. pick me! pick me!!!
If I won this wonderful prize, I would finish several UFO's including quilts for two Navy Sailors (one active duty, one recently retired).
It also seems that I am always giving away my quilts. Perhaps, with the winnings, I would make a quilt to keep for myself.
If I won this contest I would buy a ton of quilting supplies for my Project Linus group.
If I won this prize I'd pick out a ton of quilting fabrics and quilting material to use with my Project Linus group!
I would make a skirt or two, a shirt I started designing last summer, a quilt/picnic blanket, doll dresses for a dozen little girls I know, presents for people...
Love Fabric.com
Would make some beautiful little girl clothes!!
Brenda
I'm in feeling in rather desperate need of new curtains!
I'd make some new spring skirts, a quilt (I recently took a class with Denise Schmidt...now I have all sorts of ideas!), some home accessories, and probably just grab some beautiful fabric to keep in my stash for future projects!
Thanks for the giveaway!
There's going to be an increase in the head count of our family and it would be lovely to welcome the new member with handmade items (quilt, toys etc.).
Wow - great giveaway! I would completely redecorate my
sewing/guestroom.
After living through the recent bushfires here in Victoria Australia and feeling so helpless to help those who were directly affected, i have been knitting and sewing blankets and quilts for those who lost everything. All i have been able to use are scraps i have here or that people have donated to me, as i lost my job before Christmas and money has been super tight. It would be lovely to have the opportunity to purchase gorgeous fabrics like fabric.com have to make quilts for such deserving people.
I've been working on patchwork table runners for my wedding, so I'd probably select a bunch of fabrics for that -- my plan is to use them later to make a quilt.
If I were picked, I would sew a cute cover for my sofa and with the leftovers, I would do a hard drive comfy.
Cheers from Spain!!
BÃ rbara
planning to do a quilt for a friend, he will have a baby in few months :D
Best wishes from Europe
My son will be a freshman at college next year. I am making a quilt using some of his favorite shirts and what is left of some of his old quilts and blankets.
The fabric from fabrics.com (which he would pick) would be used to complement the older fabric and complete the quilt.
Alicia Vittal
If I were picked, I'd make a couple skirts I am dying to sew, a few extra totes and groceries bags and some bibs for the babies around me. Oh, and quilts, quilts, quilts!
Awesome giveaway!
I would have a blast. I'd make stuffed dinosaurs for my sons and nephews, handbags, pillows.
Lena Cox

If I were picked, I'd make a couple skirts I am dying to sew, a few extra totes and groceries bags and some bibs for the babies around me. Oh, and quilts, quilts, quilts!
Awesome giveaway!
There would be enough fabric to make gifts for my boys, my family and friends. Just something special for them to treasure and for them to know that someone is thinking of them.
I'd love to win! I think I'd have to make lots of lovely items for my baby girl who is due in July. It might give me a kick up the bum to start her nursery!!!! :)
I'm in a sorority (AEPhi) and every spring my chapter holds a silent auction for the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF). I would make pillows, plushies, and all sorts of fun things college students would like to by and donate them to my chapter's philanthropy event.
Whoops! I would make diapers for my baby due in June and I would also make quilts for all the new friends I have made who will be having babies this year.
I would LOVE to have some fancy new threads. I thrift most of my fabric and sometimes deny myself new cloth. This would be a fantastic treat!
What wouldn't I do with all this fabric? ;-)
I think I would finally get the chance to move on from handbags and smaller projects to sewing clothes. Also, I could buy all those great Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner etc. prints I can't get where I live... =)
I'm always making crafty things for other people, which I love -- there's nothing like a handmade gift. But I never make anything for myself. I think I'd make myself a light, soft, comfortable quilt, perfect for cuddling up on the sofa with a book on a rainy afternoon.
I'd learn how to properly use my sewing machine and make a few project bags for knitting and cross stitch. And then I'll make a dress for me :) Or a cute shirt ^_^
If you'd pick me I would have fabric to make all the ideas in my head: Purses, wallets, boxes covered with fabric, baby's shoes, toys for my nephew, accessories for dolls,...
So many ideas! I think the hard part would be to choose wich project to begin ;)
I guess I would have to start with the quilts that I have dreamed of for my daughter and son. Now that our little family is complete, I want to make them something they'll can keep forever.
-violet
I love Fabric.com so much. Off the top of my head I'd make a dress for a new doll.
I would make dresses for my daughter. And maybe line some crochet purses.
... I would make, in no particular order, a number of new summer skirts for myself, a wrap to put my knitting needles in, and a quilt for my mom.
I would most definitely be making some clothes and some quilts. I'd love for my kids to have something from me. Right now all their clothes are from Freecycle or gifts from the grandparents, and I'd like to make them some cute clothes. Then I'd start to work on some nice quilts for next winter. In addition to all that I think that I'd need to get some yellow and blue fabric to make some baby quilts to include in welcome bags for new parents from NWDSA (Northwest Down Syndrome Association -- check them out at www.nwdsa.org).
I would sit down and make everything in Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol. Twice.
I would certainly make some new clothes for my girls.
Thank you so much!
i'd get loads of lovely patterned fabrics
then turn them into fabric badges.
I'll then give away loads of them at my next craft fair.
i would make lots of fun clothes for my daughters!
I would like to sew quilting blanket to our bedroom....
So many projects from craftzine - I kept to sew - now I'll have a chance:-)
Many thanks for the giveaway
I visit Fabric.com - great sales they have, and so many fabrics patterns!!
I would love to use the fabric to a summer dress or a tunic and some quilts.
I'd like to say that I'd do something selfless and amazing, but I'd probably make curtains, bedding, and furniture covers for my first apartment.
~Chae
Winning this fabric would certainly brighten up this crafter's month! I would love to use the fabric to make a quilt for my new daughter. We just moved to Australia from California, so my quilt will have applique handprints and body outlines of all of her relatives so she can compare herself to them as she grows!
What would I make?! What WOULDN'T I make?! Totes, pillowcases, beanbags, clothes/shorts/sundresses (summer is coming!), blankets and cute li'l baby things (babies are coming, too!) maybe even some plushies/stuffies... I live out in the countryside here in the beautiful state of IOWA; the closest fabric store is 20 miles away and I visit the 4 fabric-sellers in my area FAR too often, lol! LOVE IT! Great contest! Thanks for the opportunity! Good luck everyone!
I'd make a very mod and Bollywood-ish shift dress for my best friend's birthday at the end of the month! And then some kitty toys and also one of those pet beds made from recycled suitcases that I've been seeing everywhere!
I'm super new to sewing and really want to start using nice fabrics so that I can get really excited about my finished products! I'd really like to start making clothes.
I would make some nifty knitting bags to hold my projects while I'm on the go. I'd also make some pillows for our apartment, and probably a nice little bed for the kitty.
Rebecca

a new diaper bag
the list goes on and on!
Thanks for the chance to win!

I'm transfering to the College of Charleston in the fall and I can't wait! I'm already in the process of making things for my future form, and $250 worth of fabric would be wonderful- I'd make curtains, a laundry bag, pillowcases, and not to mention gifts for my future roommates- I'm thinking fabric-covered hangers. I'm also looking into joinging a quilting guild when I move, and when I do I could help with the guild's projec tof makeing cuddle blankets for sick kids in the hospital and in foster care. Thanks for the chance to win, craftzine!
I love fabric! This contest is great
I want to teach my 14 and 9 yr old daughters to sew this summer. Since their dad will be deploying to Afghanistan soon, we will need something to keep us busy. Not to mention, it would be more of a bonding experience for us.
oh my word! that would be absolutely amazing!
What wouldn't I make! I live in a small town, and the closest fabric store is an hour away, leaving me with the Wal-Mart, which has the worst selection ever, it's tiny. I'd get some lovely jersey as that's always so hard to find, and make lovely comfy items for summer that travel well
There's just so much on my list. I'd like to re-upholster this amazing vintage loveseat that I rescued from the side of the road, which has been living in my basement wearing sad and tattered plush. Also, mini-quilts for the gals in my wedding party. and a home-brew Snuggie for my mama, since her house is always cold.
i would make dresses and skirts for my friend and i who are just learning to swing dance and we would wear them to the swing dancing club.
usually i just get a hold of fabric scraps or leftover clothes to make things, but $250 worth of fabric is astounding to me! please pick me! :D
Yay, Fabric! Thanks for the giveaway!
I´m from Mexico City and i can't find that kind of fabric here! It's beautiful!

Hi there!
We would upholster a chair with some large scratches. Our cat has been on a 'soft claw' diet for awhile now and we finally feel safe in fixing the problem.
Thanks so much for running this giveaway! :)

Quilts!
I would make quilts galore and probably actually do all of the projects around the house I always think about doing but never do. And, I'd make lots of gifts for people I love. Fun! Thanks for giving this away - even if I don't win, I'm super excited that someone will get such a great gift! :o)
Wooo! I would whip up a summer wardrobe for the new job I really need. :)
I'd love to win. I've got a doll project I'd like to get underway and this would help a lot.
I'd make skirts, a quilt, and some kid-pants. I probably wouldn't donate any of what I made except as possible gifts to family and friends...
I would make a quilt for my little girl. And a skirt for me.
I would make lots of patchwork baby quilts that I donate to the children's hospital!
Holy cow, I would go hog wild and make myself a whole new summer wardrobe of adorable skirts and sundresses.

With twins on the way I would make a bunch of pants for them and my daughter. And a dress for myself.
I would make all of the patterns that were left to me by my grandmother. Some day I'll try them all out!
Thanks! Erin
$250 worth of fabric! I would be in heaven! I would send some for my mom to make quilts and make lots and lots of bags and dolls/plushie.
Hubby's sisters are excellent seamstresses in Guatemala, and since new clothing is not very affordable over there I could pick out some lovely fabrics so that they could sew their own clothing and dresses for the holidays.
I've got a lovely little idea to make a quilted/appliqued, tapestry-style recreation of a favoured piece of comic book art ala the works of George Perez, Alex Ross, or Mike Weiringo to hang in my hubby's office... maybe even something from the Judas Contract-era Teen Titans...
A quilted Lovecraftian triptych would also be very fun to work on.
I would actually use all of the clothing patterns that I have piled up and would make my daughter and I a new wardrobe with no shopping involved. That would be awesome!!!
Hi Fabric.com
My family and I are moving to Ghana July 31. My husband and I are teachers. We are bringing our 10 and 14 year old girls so that they can learn about more than the comforts of small town life and can have an opportunity to integrate service learning into their everyday curriculum.
I would love to teach the international students how to make stuffies for the orphans and work with local young women to be creative and enterprising.
Thanks Fabric.com
Amy in Sebastopol, CA
I was going to enter myself, but after reading all of the comments from the entry posters, I say GIVE THE FABRIC.COM PRIZE TO AMY!! Nothing I would make can compare to the enjoyment and solid generosity of Amy and her family's use of fabric in Ghana. Heads and shoulders above all the quilts and sundresses, sorry!
I would love to make fun summer skirts for me and my daughter.
I would make my first quilt! I would definitely want to try making clothes and my apartment could use some curtains too.
I would make coordinating clothing for my daughter and her many baby dolls.
I can think of several quilts I could make!
BACKGROUND
My fiance proposed to me back in January, a week before doctors discovered a plum-sized mass on his left temporal lobe. He's since undergone surgery to remove it. On the plus side, he's doing great now and is feeling better than expected! It was non-cancerous and is very unlikely to ever return. (Yay!)
We got news just as he was about to go back to work after recovery that the company he worked for was closing and his job was no more. (Boo..) We're still staying optimistic and we're trying to plan for a wedding (June 1, 2010) with a very limited budget. With the medical bills, lack of income and hopes for him to claim unemployment/find a new job ASAP, we're still determined to remain upbeat and do the best with what we have.
GOAL
I have my heart set on a vintage 60s tea length wedding dress but being a size 16 in today's sizes, finding a vintage dress in my size is just not working out. (Especially one that's affordable) I'm starting to realize that my best bet is to create the dress myself and I truly hope I can find the right pattern and material for it. With $250 in fabric, I'm sure I'll be able to do just that and probably have plenty for my sister's (the maid of honor's) dress as well! It's been a rough 2009 so far but we're excited to get past hard stuff and look forward to a future together.
OUTCOME
Who knows???
(sorry for the double post!)

Who knows???
...but why won't the page let me sign in? I keep trying and it keeps saying "error on page..." I'm getting frustrated. I'll feel a lot better as soon as I win this prize, though.
What an awesome giveaway! After 10 years of waiting and saving my husband and I are buying a home in the next few months. I would use it to decorate our new home.
I would totally make curtains for my living room, sewing room, and throw pillows!!!
I would make a baby quilt for my new nephew and attempt to make clothes for me and my son.

I would make a patchwork quilt!
Doll clothes, tote bags and purses, heirloom dresses for daughter and little babe to be born in the fall.
I would try really hard to make something for myself. I never take the time for myself any more because of monetary restrictions. I want to make pretty skirts and dresses that make everyone comment how how cute they are :) I would also make my baby niece some little stuffies that she can't get anywhere else.
Danger Kitty
summer play clothes for the kids, yoga pants for me, and pajamas for all of us!
Oh gosh, the possibilities are endless! Curtains for my living room! Clothes for my three-year-old daughter! Clothes for myself!

Then I would combine those scraps with all the scraps I have to make an heirloom quilt to one day pass down through generations.
Oh I hope you pick me... Ever since I lost my job, we just don't have the funds to support my sewing. I could really make $250 go a long way! Thanks!!
I started sewing again this year. The last time I sewed I was 14-years old. Do I dare tell my age, well hell yes, I am now 53.
I am working on pillows right now but I would love to sew skirts. Especially with nice fabric of many different colors and patterns for many different people.
Thanks Craftzine for the opportunity.
I would make some skirts and some pants for my little one. And maybe some lavender bags for the dryer.
I would make a rad new bedspread for my love nest! Then I would make some guest pillows and curtains for our livingroom... but really all I want to do is swim around in all the beautiful fabrics! YUM!

A crib quilt for my friend's new baby. New curtains for my bedroom. A coverlet for my guest bed. Throw pillows for the couch. And so much more!!

I would use the fabric to create a fun, colorful quilt. Thanks for having this fun contest.
I would make curtains and a quilt for my baby that is coming in September.
And probably a super cute diaper bag for me!!
I'd make many more of those reusable snack bags that you featured on your site a while back -- I am addicted -- to their look, their utility, their environmental wonderfulness, their ease...
Also I would probably get more blank material to screen print on...
Super fun!
Thanks for the opportunity to enter...
I would love to make the kiddies some capes for their many adventures! :)
Friends of ours are getting married in July and we don't want to buy an impersonal gift, so my boyfriend and I decided we would make them a quilt. A gift certificate for fabric would be perfect!
Dreaming of all the items I could make....
I would use the material to help teach othrs the joy of sewing, I make fun wall quilts and crazy soft sculpture creatures. I drool at the thought of free fabric
Why, I'd make a new line of summer dresses of course!
What WOULDN'T I make with fabric from here? Goodness - this would seriously do my wallet good - as I am definitely fabric addicted. Purses, aprons, shirts, skirts, quilts... I'd stock up on patterns and books too....
I'd hopefully use the fabric for something for my wedding!
My mom is a quilter on a fixed income. With a gift certificate I could get her fabric she wouldn't otherwise be able to get.
I'm a long-time reader but nonmember who'd really love some fabric. I'm learning to sew, slowly. I'm originally more of an artist than a crafter, but I've applied that to sewing and have a million ideas! My (rather new) blog is at TossedCookies.Wordpress.com.
-Cristy
dresses and dresses.
I'm on the search for the perfect pair of pants so I would definitely purchase some pants pattern and fabric. I'm also making more gifts this year for holidays and birthdays so this would be a perfect opportunity to buy some fabrics for those.
My wedding is in November, and I could definitely make use of this! I was already thinking of embroidering handkerchiefs for the parents. I could do something fun for decor or maybe do wedding party gifts as well! Fingers crossed!
I would sew a lovely fresh summer wardrobe that I'd probably get done just as summer ended.
I'd sew childrens cloths! I've been refashioning thrift store clothing due to the cost of new fabric.
I'm WAY into making my 2 year-old daughter dresses... way more into it than she is into wearing them ;-)
And aprons. Aprons are hot. Thanks for the chance to win!
Wow - what a great giveaway!!!
I'd choose bright, high energy fabrics and I'd make bags, pincushions and a quilt for my daughter whose wedding is on May 16!
I would sew a "maid of honor" dress...for me!!! My best friend's wedding is near and I'm sure I would be the best dressed (after the bride, of course!) with so wonderful fabrics!!! XD Oh, and some cotton toys for my nephews, or they wouldn't talk to me for months!!!!
I'm just starting to learn quilting after my great-grandmother left me a half-finished quilt she started 40 years ago. I'm really excited to make my own when this one is finished, though I'm starting to be bummed out by how expensive fabric really is. This would help me a lot!
I think I'd attempt to make a quilt. A very, very large quilt.
I would make new curtains for my office/craft room. And re-cover a chair to match!
I would use it to make my first real project! I'm learning to sew right now, and pretty fabric would be just what I need to make my first shirt or dress.
I would totally make the octopus body pillow I've been wanting to make. Also panties. I work as a seamstress at a lingerie company and I have all these ideas for different styles of panties I want to make. Also I have this three piece canvas set of art pieces that I need to make panties for but haven't had the chance lately to go searching for some awesome crazy looking fabric for.
And if I had some left I would make a crap load of wrap around skirts, (my favorite), for my friend Katie and I. It is summer after all.
My mom and her sisters get together several times a year and make quilts which they donate to a charity group. My quilting skills are pretty non-existent so I've never joined them. With $250 in free fabric, however, they can afford to have me ruin a few squares!
Wait. I cannot lie (especially since the charity group they donate to is group of nuns!). I would have to keep some for myself and make a few aprons or totes. Phew. Confession over.
I could get all my Christmas crafting done! My New Year's Resolution was to make all of my gifts this year. Now is the perfect time to start all the quilts I must get done in the next 8 months :) *FINGERS CROSSED*!
I am working on redecorating my place: paint, curtains, pillows, slipcovers, tableware,...the works. Except for the occasional painting here and there, it's all gonna be fabric-based, including the wall art.
And after I'm all done, I'll probably make myself some new clothes for my whole new place :)
Ooooh, I want new curtains and cushion covers for the kitchen. And a new table runner! The country blue from the 80s needs a refresh1
with spring fever in the air I have so many ideas from cute skirts to new bedding, the list is endless!
I've just started up my second blog network, this time for kids. A recent addition to the network is kids craft blog, so I would order a squillion different kinds of fabrics to make project patterns with to post on the blog.
*Fingers Crossed!!!*
What would I make--hmm, it's so hard to say! Quilts, or maybe I'd take the plunge and get a new sofa and make a slipcover for it. Or begin my adventures in historical costume sewing...so many choices!
I'd love to make a gift for my girlfriend with the prize stash! :)
Wow, what wouldn't I make with it? I would buy varied fabrics to make quilts, crafts, and new summer wardrobe pieces. Thanks for the chance!
I am new to sewing. This would be a mighty injection to my puny stash.
Well, with the difficult economy I would probably make clothes for myself and also to sell. I am a college student and I'm trying to make enough money to be able to afford an apartment next year without having to work on top of being a full time art student.
I also have a friend who just had a baby and would love to make blankets/pillows/toys for the little one!!
i would use it in a few projects that i'm starting this semester... =]
it include wallets and wall decoration
I have so many ideas on the back burner right now.
But the top idea is to make a skirt using LED's and a button on/off switch. I've had the plans for months now and just haven't had the resources or time to make it.
Other things I would make:
A new Renaissance Costume
Clothes for myself (because you can never have too many)
Cover some shoes in fabric
and lots lots more.
and drapes! i need window coverings in the front of my house, for ALL the windows! that's what i would use all that fabric for :)
What wouldn't I make?? I've got a few bags earmarked and a couple of skirts for summer, too. I'm What an exciting contest!
What wouldn't I make?? I've got some bags earmarked and a couple of skirts I'd like to make for summer. I'm sure I could find a few more projects to make, too. What an exciting contest!!
oh my, i wouldn't know where to begin. being a list-full person, i would start brainstorming projects and then make a fabric list from there. mostly i want to make new projects for the local art fair and the farmer's market. we make all our own gifts so this would give us a great head start for the holidays.
some fancy fabric would be just what i need to blow the approching winter blues away! i would make some new blinds for my bedroom and start on some cushion cobers to go with a new-secondhand couch!
i would make so many little projects for around my house!
if i won this fabric i would make a technicolor floral canopy to cocoon my bed. beautiful vibrant florals would let light through and brighten my home, as well as keep the light out at night. such beautiful fabrics!
thanks...casey
That's a lot of fabric! I would make a quilt, a totebag - maybe a couple of quilts and a bag, a table runner, a wall hanging - some homemade napkins would be cool - and then I could make some crafty party favors for my Book club. I would give some to my daughter - she loves to handsew things and makes clothes for herself. Maybe some handkerchiefs - that would be a cool way to show off your craftiness.
I hope the winner shows us some of the stuff they make!
Thanks for the contest!
Baby stuff, curtains, purses, stuffed creatures just about everything.
I would make a baby quilt for my first niece/nephew due in July, as well as bibs and burp cloths. I would also make a lovely tote to show off to all of my friends!
Definitely purses, and clutches and wallets, and cozies for my ipod. Probably some plushies and cute tops to wear. And dozens of pincushions, even though I don't need even one more.
Oh wow, i would do alot with those, i would be able to start all the sketches i drawn normally for my college portfolio, but never did from time and fabric materials, i would also be able to make a few things for myself finally.
oh man, I don't even know where to start!! I would sew a new market bag, something roomy to fit all the junk I like to carry. New dresses for my girls, new pillows for my couch, tons of fabric covered buttons and key fobs and little softies for gifts :D
I would buy the most wonderful kid's prints and brights and surprise my quilt guild with the fabric for our Project Linus quilt project.
Thanks for the chance to win.
Sue Cahill (sbonetsue at yahoo dot com)
I would make myself an adult non-see-through crinoline skirt!! I want to wear a tutu everyday!
And then stuff for my wedding.
I have my priorities.
I would make canvases. And I would make pillows in the shape of alphabet. And I would make a wrap for my boyfriend's flask. And baby clothes.
I'd split it with my friend Melissa. We'd sew some pretty things for ourselves, then make aprons to sell on etsy to fund our summer roadtrip and photography field trip to Savannah.
kt.cowden@gmail.com
New spring bag, new summer bag, new fall bag, new winter bag, new spring/summer/fall/winter clothes for the kiddos to start with.
I see some pretty summer dresses in my future... thanks!!!!
I'd start with some quiltart postcards for the swap I'm behind on, then move on to something larger--maybe a whole quilted piece of art. Fabric to make up for beaded art dolls. I'd also sew up some tote bags and maybe an artist's smock. I'd love some sheer voile curtains for the summer (we have nothing on our windows now) and some new pillow covers on the couch. The possibilities are endless!
I love shopping at Fabric.com anyway!!
SusanSW
I would make some more baby quilts for all the babies that keep popping up in all my friends' arms... then I would be adventurous and try to make some garments for myself.
I could afford fun prints to play with quilting. pillows, skirts, a dress, maybe a swimsuit. who knows?
lots and lots of clothes for MEEEEE! ;)
I'd so love to win this. I think I'd be making loads of things; a handbag, a quilt top, clothing for my daughters...
I'm a fashion design student so I always need fabric to work with. I would use the certificate to buy supplies for class & use the materials for projects. Probably make some cute dresses!
I embroider and would love some beautiful cottons to embellish
I would use it to make a wedding present for my sister and other presents for the bridal party. If I have anything left over, I would use it to make lots of Christmas presents for friends and family instead of wasting money on less personal gifts.
Then I'd get started on a spring/summer wardrobe for my darling daughter (and maybe a couple skirts for Momma).
I would really like to make so items for Handmade Help. They are a group that has been set up here in Melbourne, Australia to help provide handmade items to those who lost so much in the recent devastating bush fires. Hundereds of homes we destroyed & nearly 200 people lost their lives. I can't imagine my house without the may handmade items that make it feel like home. Handmade Help are also taking donations of fabric to help people to restart their fabric stash.
Thanks craftzine & Fabric.com for such a great giveaway.
Just started sewing, and my three daughters have a list of dresses, shirts and skirts that they want! The fabric would make their wish list an easy sew!
Well, I think new curtains for the living room would be an excellent project choice if I won this gift card. Thanks for the chance!
I would make a new quilt for my bed and summer clothes for my sweet gal and maybe even a little something for my sweet husband.
I'm an artist, who paints on fabric. I would LOVE some new inspiration!! Our fabric store is closing, so fabric.com is my only source now!
I would make a new duvet cover for my new room!!!
I would make myself a new dress for every month and special event I could think of or make up!
I'm hoping to learn to quilt and this would be fabulous.I could also improve my wardrobe for medieval reenactment!
With a baby on the way, I would love to buy enough fabric to make all the baby items on my list, like a shopping cart cover and mei tai and a few clothing items. I'd also love to make some purses/bags as I've been needing something a bit bigger lately.
i would make my little sister and i summer dresses, curtains for her room and add onto the family quilt. the scraps would be used to make stuffed animals
I love fabric.com. I would make a summer mini wardrobe for myself, cozy sweatpants and sweatshirts for my kids, and I would also make more quilts.
Overalls for my wee-one, skirts for me, wristlets and aprons for my sisters, and start a new quilt project. Oh, what fun I would have!!
i would love to finally start my first attempt at my childrens scrapbooks, now over 13 years stuffed into a box,for the inspiration of my hearts desire. and love doing it, instaed of settling for something that doesnt speak out for who we are. it would be the kick i need.
Oh fabric.com, what wouldn't I make from fabulous free fabric? Skirts are a must, but I would also endeavor to make what I call "good karma" bags: simple handbag/tote designs to give away to friends and random strangers, passing my good karma on to the next person with a delightful finished product. I have other good karma ideas, too, but the bags are the first thing I thought of - GOOD KARMA FOR EVERYONE!
-Shelley
I was just on fabric.com yesterday, dreaming. I'd do pillowcases, patchwork toys, baby things, book covers, and other pretty projects to make my friends and family happy!!
I have so many things I would love to do with that much fabric, especially since I'm contemplating doing some crafty stuff with an eye to sales on etsy or similar, but mostly just because it would be SO MUCH FUN!!!
I'd buy different types and weights of cotton to make tea towels to print or stamp by hand and trims to go with them, both as gifts for some friends who are marrying and with an eye to a future product line.
Try making handbags and if that went well I'd try making bags and pouches geared toward disabled people for ease of use to be donated and/or sold
See if it's possible to make a cane-cover for my cane to spruce it up.
Make myself some new comfy dresses.
Make some camp shirts and pajamas with some wild/fun fabric
Make my husband the seersucker pants he's been wanting (or at least get him the fabric to make his own.)
Start experimenting with making plushies, again for donations and/or sale
I apologize if this posted more than once. I had problems with the verification part...
I would have so much fun if I won the giveaway!
There are so many things I would make. Mostly dresses for my daughter, a quilt for my sister and one for my mom, a weekend bag for my mom and one for my sister. I could go on forever.
I would make my two wonderful nieces the cutest little outfits!
I'd not only make my boss the outfit imaginable for the daughter she's expecting, I'd use the remainder of the money to donate fabric to the Costume Shop I work at through my university-- that way I'd know it'd serve a good purpose... making more art!
A life-sized Twitter fail whale with all his little birdies. I think the whale could be a beanbag chair, and then you could sit on him with all the birds flying around your head! I'd also attach some of the fabric to foam board and mount it on the wall in my studio as art.
I would buy the fabric for my wedding quilt. I have seen at weddings instead of a guest book or photobook, you set out pieces of precut fabric and a fabric pen. The guests sign each piece of fabric and you go home and make a quilt out of it. I LOVE this idea, but I have never made a quilt before and I don't know if I want to undertake this huge project as a newbie. But if I won and could buy all my fabrics, I will definitely do it.
How exciting!! My first project would be a skirt. I have been making curtains and pocketbooks, but now would like to start making clothes. I hope I win!!
I would pick out a few Lonni Rossi prints for a home project, then share the rest of the certificate with my mom!
What a fabulous giveaway! I would love to make some cheerful curtains and complementary pillows for my new apartment in the fall, and maybe some reversible placemats if I could find some cute oilcloth!
with that much fabric i would make curtains for my den and sew a new spring/summer wardrobe. especially skirts and wrap dresses!!!!
this is a great giveaway!
i would make a new duvet cover for my bed, then make some reusable shopping bags, then maybe some skirts...the possibilities are endless!
OHH! I would make lots of fun clothes for all of my friends kids. I would love to win!
I am going to be a first grade teacher next year, and I am planning all sorts of things to make for my classroom: Beanbags, Crayon Pouches, comforting blankets, and curtains for the chalkboard!
I would definitely make the reversible wrap skirt from my CRAFT: volume 6 magazine. And I would scale down the pattern and make two of them for my twin baby girls.
Wow, that is a lot of fabric. To start with, I would make a quilt for my bed. I am always making quilts for others but never for myself. I am thinking a nice pale blue summer quilt would look lovely. Then I would make some summer skirts. Can you tell that I want summer to come NOW?!?
i would stock up on material for future projects/hoarding or buy material to reupholster the midcentury couches i just bought.
Curtains!!
Some cute dresses or skirts for my nieces, some neat-frito shorts for my nephews and maybe even a nice Summer skirt for myself!
I've got several quilts that are waiting to be finished- this would be GREAT!
What a giveaway!!! I would use it to offset the costs of making reusable grocery bags for a fundraiser for the refugee girl scout troop I work with!!!
OOOOH! I've been looking for a good online fabric store. I need fabric to make therapeutic rice bags (fill fabric with rice, add essential oils, & microwave -- then put on your neck, back, etc. They're WONDERFUL!)
Someone is incredibly generous!! If i won, i would finally be able to recover a bunch of furniture that is just screaming for some awesome prints!
Some cute little dresses or skirts for my nieces, some neato-frito shorts for my nephews and maybe even a Summer skirt for myself.
Ooooooo! I would make a layered apron. Then I'd make a plushie. Then I might make ruffled apron. Then I might make a wrap-up pencil holder. Then I might make another apron (I went on an online apron-making class but haven't had any fabric to make one yet!). Pick me!
To add to the sentiment going around: HOT DAMN, what a giveaway!
I wish I had a super important or extravagant goal ("I design and sew outfits to give to homeless inner-city orphans"), but honestly, the first thing I would do is sew myself a contra dancing (like square dancing for people up north) skirt with some decent twirl, because everything I've ever bought from a store falls short.
Then I would sew myself a dress is the strong likeness of one that I saw at a vintage store for approximately one squillion dollars (okay, so, I exaggerated there). My roommate said "don't buy that, I have a pattern just like it! We'll make you one!" But I don't have fabric.
The only reason these are particularly notable projects, is because I in general can sew little more than a straight line, and I brought my sewing machine to college with me in order to make my roommate teach me how to sew, but I just cannot bring myself to spend a lot of money on fabric for a skirt/dress when I suspect I'll be messing up. At least at first.
Anyway, that comment ran a little long, but summary: $250 towards home-made girly clothes for college student learning to sew. :]
Thanks in general for the giveaway!
What would I make! Oh my .... my head is spinning! I'd definitely make some new funky curtains for my living room first of all. I'd probably make some cool pillows too. Hmmmm.... I'd love to make some quilts for some family and friends. I'd also love to sew some cute stuff for my niece's room. Aprons too!!!
I would use tons of different fabrics to make a seriously scrappy quilt. What fun!
I've been wanting to try my hand at making totes and purses. This would be a wonderful way to get new fabric as my crafting budget is currently on hold due to auto repairs. :( The good thing is I've been really focused on reusing/recycling to get me thru this time so at least I'm not in total "craft withdrawal". Thanks so much for the give-away!!
I would a quilt for ME. Not one to give away (for once) but one for me myself to keep. Preferably with as many different cute cat fabrics in it as I can find to buy. :)
I have recently come home from the hospital after surgery, and I really want to make some gifts (scrubs, quilts, etc) for the nurses that took care of me while I was there. I am one of the unlucky that will never bring my baby home from the hospital, and I really don't think I could have gotten through this without the support of those amazing women.
Many had commented on the lack of time to shop for decent looking & fitting scrubs, so that is what I would like to make :)
quilts, quilts...more quilts.
Quilts, stuffed animals, doggie toys, curtains, pajamas, aprons, ......
Wow, I'm just learning to sew and really want to make a quilt, and a million other projects! Thanks so much!

i would make soft books of the states for my niece. i want to make soft books that have the state flower, state tree, state animal etc., starting with Michigan where she lives & Vermont where i live.
I definitely know what I would make. I've just had my first baby girl after 3 little boys. I've been saving some vintage patterns from the 40s and 50s - adorable little dresses and bonnets for which I need *just the right fabric* that I haven't been able to find locally. With this prize, I'm sure I could make the perfect little heirloom dress for my little nugget.
How delicious are these fabrics that you are giving away!!
It would be wonderful to win, however, whomever is chosen may you sew to your hearts desire and create pieces that inspire.
Personally I would sew handbags for gifts and I might sneak one in for myself.

Definitely some summer dresses/clothes for my kids, money is tight these days and making them with free fabric would be a big savings. I bet I could think of some Christmas presents to create with this, too - that would be a huge bonus!
Ooo - the things I could make!! I think I would start with a quilt for my baby girl!
quilts! and costumes!
I would make a bunch of quilts if I won this prize. Thanks for the great giveaway!!
I'd make curtains for all the windows. We moved 17 months ago and since we have miniblinds I haven't put up any curtains yet. The cats and the kid love it but it ain't very pretty

What a wonderful suprise today :)
Wow! That would be wonderful! I've been wanting to make a quilt for my bed for a while now, but fabric in New Zealand is so expensive. This would be the perfect opportunity to finally make a quilt that I could keep for myself!

I'd make some summer skirts for my daughter and me.
Sweet! Well seeing as I just ordered 2 sewing books, I can use this fabric to make every project in these books! Which includes bags, placemats, aprons and a whole bunch of stuff! OOooh! I hope I win!
It still feels like winter here in North Dakota but I'm already thinking (daydreaming) about summer. I'd make beach balls, picnic blankets, and a bowling set for my LO.
Well i really want to make myself one of those 3/4 length trench coats i'm seeing everywhere.
Plus Hubby loves to cook for a crowd so i'd like to make some casserole carriers so he'd look really professional bringing in food for the 30+cousins when they get together.
I have two friends with little ones on the way. I'd love to help clothe them for their first few years! There's nothing more special than handmade clothing...and when they look back on it, they'll have special memories.
I would use the fabric to make a new quilt, as well as to add to my still tiny stash. I might use some to make some new reusable bags...as well as a the multitude of other craft projects that always demand to be created.

would love this- we make quilts for cancer patients- this would help the budget alot
Well right now I think I'd stock up on patterns, thread, and quilting solids, but I always find something fun on fabric.com!
Wow, I'd share the fabric with friends and we'd all make kids' stuff. It would become dolls, toys, bags, appliques, name banners, and play crowns (just to name a few).

...need i say more?
A QUILT! i have been waiting to have enough cash to buy fabric to make my first quilt with my brrrrrand new sewing machine!
Lots and lots of baby pants!
I'd give it to my girlfriend and partner in crime and let her go to town. While I probably could order some pretty pretty fabric for skirts and dresses, she'd actually use it to make stuff that she'd enjoy. It would probably just gather dust and look at me sadly if I used it.

Holy mother of all that is craft, what wouldn't I make? I've only recently started sewing again after a couple of years hiatus and I've got pages upon pages of ideas- both using commercial patterns, and my own ideas that will probably end up in tutorial form eventually.
Specifics... I've got this pattern for an uberdramatic coat I've had since middle school which would look best in fabrics I haven't been able to afford to date. I've played a pirate at the local Renaissance Festival for seven years now and could really use a fitting coat or cloak for those rainy days. I'm always on the lookout for cool knit fabrics to use in reconstructing thrift store t-shirts and cool cotton prints for use in just about anything. I want to learn to make corsets. I want to learn to make high-quality bags. I would adore some summer dresses, and finally, I'd love to try quilting. There is so much I'd do with this! Thank you so much for the opportunity to dream.
It's silly, but I need to stock up on solids. I want to make a simple quilt made with all solids!
Wow! If I were to win I would buy material to make things for our house. We just bought our first home 6 months ago and we have used all our money renovating it and bringing back all its character. Now I am ready to do finishing touches for it--kitchen curtains, pillows, a shower curtain, bathroom curtains, and more. But I need material to do all these things...
Oh, me please!
I'd make some baby bibs for my sister, who's expecting. And Perhaps some new curtains for my unsightly living room windows.
What WOULDN'T I make with that much fabric is the real question!! Well, I probably wouldn't make diapers (no babies), dog sweaters (no dogs), or tea cozies (no teapots). But I would *love* to make a baby quilt (I've got a nephew!), a sewing machine cover (I've got a sewing machine!), and new spring skirt (I've got a torso!).
Thanks for the giveaway!
Ooooh! Fantastic giveaway!
I would work on a few different things:
A couple totebags
throw pillows
curtains for my bedroom and office
and a new handbag, perhaps!
I have a sewing machine I need some practice with, very exciting giveaway, thanks!
To put quilts in. Then I would make quilts to put in it. Then I would quilt a picture of the bag onto the quilts that go into the bag!
I have a dining room desperately in need of lots o' fabric. Re-cover the fabric on the chairs, add curtains, tablecloths with coordinating cloth napkins.
Thanks for the fabulous prize, good luck everyone!
I have just recently caught the quilting bug......This would finance my very first real quilt...I could recreate quite a few items that need updating in this house!! What an awesome giveaway!
That's an awesome gift card! I don't even know what I would make with all those beautiful fabrics; there's a laundry list of things I want to make, I know there would be some really happy kiddos (& mommies) with new goodies!
I'd make a ton of the bags you feature patterns for! Going to review everything I've bookmarked (slobber)
It would be so awesome to have all that fabric! I made my first pouch yesterday (quite cute I must say!) using a pattern I bought on Etsy. I look forward to buying more cutie patterned fabric for future projects~!!
That's a super easy question... I'd make about 80 of the purse patterns that have been featured on Craft magazine!
We are in the process of buying our first house so I would use the GC to buy fabric to make drapes and throw pillows and other home decorating items =)
I have an awesome pattern for a capelet to wear while driving on chilly days! I even have some fabric from fabric.com picked out. After I made that, I would make a diaper bag for a friend and a whole slew of other things!
I would make a full-skirted, 50's-style dress (Vogue 8446?) from Anna Maria Horner's Garden Party fabric--the swirly red and white art nouveau print that is home dec weight, so very pricey, but gorgeous. And I would continue on my quest to make everything out of Heather Ross's Weekend Sewing.
Wow...quilts, and gifts, and clothes for my daughter, and a new tablecloth, and some bunting...
Please, please pick me. I just started sewing and this would be the perfect way to get an amazing collection of fabric. I would makes skirts, bags, purses, clutches, aprons... oh my, the possibilities are endless! It would be a blast! Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
I would finally start on all of those vintage patterns I found at the thrift store! Why didn't they come with fabric on their own?
Blankets. Definitely blankets and couch pillows. Maybe some clothes.
I would love to make a few things for my classroom - cushions for the reading area, a quilt or two for the cot and bench, doll quilts for the home corner, a picnic blanket, display area covers, and perhaps a couple of table cloths for special snack times, bunting for the outdoor play area....
Wao!!!! what a cool giveaway!!! all the fabric there is so beautiful!!!
My goal for this summer is to become more comfortable with garment sewing, so I'd make myself some clothes!
I just got a book with patterns to make skirts and bags. I would blow that book up!!!!
I'm in desperate need of some fabric for my "baby" quilt for my youngest son who will be turning two soon. This would get my butt in gear!
I finally just organized the craft room but it would be worth it to make it messy again with all that fabric! Plus I could make myself some new clothes to celebrate losing a bunch of weight recently :) Oooh and a cute dress for my friends' wedding!
Oh, so many projects, hard to pin one down. I do desperately want to make a new quilt for my bedroom, so that would probably get the lion's share of the fabric. The rest, for kid clothes! (and maybe something for myself..:)
I would make gift bags! Just in time for summer!
Great giveaway - fabric.com is amazing, and it would be super fun to add to my stash. I would deffo buy some Kona solids, so I have some basics to use for sashing on quilts... other than that, fabric for Christmas gifts??
I'd love to win this to get a bunch of yummy fabric to make some sweet clothes for my new little girl!
If I won this fabric I'd probably sit and stare at it's beauty for a few days while I tried to narrow down my list of a million projects I could use it for. And I'd have to make sure I chose wisely because there's nothing worse than feeling you've "wasted" fabric on an unworthy undertaking. I'm pretty sure my final project list would include a few cute purse patterns, a crayon roll up for my 3 yr old, a skirt or dress for both my girls and probably and ipod or DS case for my son, and then something crafty and useful for my husband - I think my entire family should benefit from it.
Thanks fabric.com!
A good friend of mine just hooked me on quilting so I probably would make a quilt with the fabric. Or, I am trying to teach my daughter to sew so I would use this for her to make some of her own stuff.
I LOVE fabric.com! I already have plans to make a quilt, but with a win, I'd add gifts for friends to that list for sure!! Awesome!
... is what it would seem like to win this prize! I would make Mother's Day gifts (blouse and capris for Mom and DMIL), summer outfits and new bags for my daughter (who is a teacher and cannot have enough totes), and then get started on early holiday gifts! What fun I will have all summer! Thanks so much for considering my post!
I sew stuffed animals for children whose parents can't afford toys locally, and overseas, I would be able to stock up for those critters as well as my children's sewing hour with these fabulous fabrics! Pick my random generator, I love you!
I LOVE fabric.com. I already have plans to make a quilt, but with a win I'd add to that! Kids clothes and more gifts for friends for sure!
I've been wanting to try my hand at making some of my own clothes, as well as a custom satchel...this would be a great way to get me started!
That would be awesome! I love fabric! My bf hates when I bring more fabric home though! But I always use it. This time, I would use it to make baby stuff, because we have a wonderful new baby boy. I would make a quilt, tons of clothes, fabric toys, a diaper bag, etc. I hope I win. Thanks!
Fabric.com is my crack.
I'm in the middle of designing my perfect outfit and then making multiples with different embellishments and alterations to make a "me uniform." I'm pretty excited about the idea, and have the pattern ready, all I need now is fabric. Hmmm, maybe you could help me out with that...
Lovely floaty dresses in spring colors. Definitely one with a full skirt and lots of ruffles in a pale pink. What can I say, I'd like to look like a cupcake!
Oh, boy... my mouth watered seeing this contest! I do a ton of quilting and am looking for some more modern fabrics which are impossible to find around these parts, so this would be a thrill for me to win. I'm going to have my first niece or nephew soon and need to make a very special quilt for them.
If he knew I was trying to bring *more* fabric into this house he would be just a wee bit upset. And puzzled. And maybe, maybe just a little mad.
But if I won I would first make myself the perfect bag with a wallet to match. I dream of such a beast - with spaces for everything I need, made of fabric I love to look at. Ahhhhh. And I would possibly make some curtains for my bedroom, since we've lived here for two and a half years and still have none. This *might* appease the DH.
I would finally make the quilted bedspread of my dreams. Also, I would buy the prefect fabric for my awesome craigslist chair, and re-upholster it.
What would I make? The first three things that come to mind are:
*Fabric so my mother can start quilting again.
*Make wedding gifts for my friends tying the knot this summer.
*And a dress for myself for when I attend those functions.
Oh my goodness! Well, I'll tell you precisely what I would do with it -- I would put it all towards my wedding. I am making myself a bouquet out of fabric. I have invited my family and friends to send me buttons to incorporate as well, so that my bouquet will not only never wilt or die, but that I will always have a little bit of everyone I love in it, while I walk down the aisle.
I'm also making the bouttonieres and my bridesmaid's bouquet in the same style, and more fabric is needed!
Additionally, I was planning on making one extra flower for each of my guests, to set at their places at the tables, as well as some fabric flower arrangements for the table certerpieces, but as of right now I cannot afford all of the fabric to make these things happen.
This would allow me to have enough fabric to create all of the flowers I need plus more for the centerpieces, and even enough to make extra corsages and bouttonieres for my fiance's and my parents and close family.
Hmmmm. . . .$250 should make quite a few new dresses for the girls, and maybe I'll finally get around to making a cute quilt (or 2 or 3) for my sweet new babe! Thanks so much! Amazing!!!!!!
I think I might actually get around to finishing up a summer-weight quilt for our bed. and maybe whip up a few summer skirts for myself.
I would love to win this gift certificate. I would make lots of sweet summer dresses in to frolic around. Thank you for the opportunity!
OH BOY THIS IS EXCITING!
I am currently redoing my sewing room so I think I would start there with some curtains, memo board and put some in frames as artwork.
Then I would add to my stash to motivate me when the time is right!
Thank you!
It seems that quilting is the new trends so i would like to sharpen my quilting skill and I need some shade cloth for my patio. Enjoy your monday.
Oh, wow! I would make a quilt OR maybe I'd go for sewing some clothes. For a while I'd just gaze at all the wonderful fabric!
Wow, this would be a fab prize! I would probably start by making some simple spring skirts, and then maybe even attempt a summer dress. And if I'm getting REALLY wild, a new bag to match said skirts and dresses. Whew, I know. W. I. L. D. :-) Thanks for the chance to win, Craftzine!
I would learn to make dresses and skirts, and bags. Basically I'd learn to sew :-)
I would make my two dogs new beds and sew myself some new skirts and sun dresses - things I can't afford right now with the economy so bad.
I would absolutely love to win this gift certificate! I would make lots of pretty summer dresses to frolic around in! Thank you for the opportunity.
I'd probably try my hand at making more clothes for me - maybe a shirt. I'm always making stuff for others and haven't sewn clothes for me in years!
I'd have to say the first thing I would do is make a bunch of bags for my groceries. I would love to have different ones for different types of food (i.e. meat, poultry, dairy etc). Then I think ideally I would just start making clothes. I am a clothes addict but obviously would prefer to make my own. I'm new to sewing but it's coming along better than I could imagine. With all this material, I could really get my spring/summer wardrobe to where I want it to be and feel that I accomplished something!
Either way this is a great content and thanks for letting me enter!
Lately I'm all about sewing and teaching my 10 year old how to make cute accessories. We are having a great time and have had lots of great ideas from this blog.
Thanks and...
pick me, pick me :D
I would probably try my hand at quilting, or make some cute skirts for my sister and me. With that much fabric, possibilities are endless!!
I'd make lots and lots of handbags for my friends and family
.... and toys for my kitty!
I would make me some clothes, and a bundle of reusable shopping bags.
I think the better question would be to ask "what wouldn't I make with all that great fabric"!
I am super keen to make a spring coat right now (which in my part of the northern hemisphere means a less heavy winter coat!) and anyone of those gorgeous fabrics would make perfect spring-y lining!
I'm totally addicted to fabric. Usually I let the fabric itself inspire me in what I should make. But I like making toys the best.
I would make little dresses for my sister-in-law's new twins. And maybe some new tote bags or little fun curtains for my book nook.
Oh wow, the possibilities abound...
Probably, in this order:
- backing fabric for a quilt I'm making for a friend's baby
- curtains for my new apartment that I'm moving to in three weeks
- new pillows for the new apartment
- a new quilt for the new bed in the new apartment!
Thanks so much for the offer, Craft!
Well, my babies aren't babies anymore and they've outgrown the small quilts I made them. So, if I won this contest, I think I'd get started making my three boys (4, 6, and 8) Big kid quilts!! That would be so awesome! Thank you for this great giveaway!
Dani in Portland, TX
i would make a billion pairs of hot pants for me and the other girl in my band to wear onstage! YES!!
Please oh please! I order from fabric.com about once a month and would love the chance to have a shopping spree for free!
Oh man, what wouldn't I make? I need clothing so badly!
(did this go through?)
I'd take a bunch over to my mom's and finally get her to teach me how to sew a dress. I'd make some pillows for friends and I'd cover this bench that has a really crappy cover right now.
I really want to make a quilt - One Girl.
And, dining room curtains
Or, I would make clothes for my daughter because I am obsessed! and a summer skirt for me!
Oh man, what wouldn't I make? I need clothing so badly!
spring skirts, a few new bags & something for the house...I have a chair that desperately needs some attention (besides from the cats).
That would definitely work to make a fine wardrobe of skirts this summer. Well, and the material to applique that octopus coat.
What would I do? I'd make some diapers for my little boy's bum. A lot of diapers! Cloth diapers are love!
Long, breezy flare skirts - professional enough to wear in the office but fun enough for play as well.
And probably more handbags, because they are so fun & quick to make!
I would have so much fun if I won the giveaway!
There are so many things I would make. Mostly dresses for my daughter, a quilt for my sister and one for my mom, a weekend bag for my mom and one for my sister. I could go on forever...
Right now, with my small (read no) income, I'm limited to tearing up thrift store finds for tiny scraps of fabric. I need a taste of how real people shop.
I would like to make some curtains or a canopy bed to impress my partner.
If I won, I'd make new curtains for the living room and some skirts to get a fresh start on Spring!
Skirts!
Everything I've been dying to make lately - pillows, dresses, purses, bibs for my nephew. Something from an Amy Butler book, maybe.
I SOOOO need to make some window treatments for my home! This would be so great to win - spring projects! Yay!
