Make a Toy Stove Out of Plastic Storage Container

Littlestove2
I know my daughter Chloe isn't old enough yet but when she is I want to make a play kitchen for her. I have a long ways to go so I'm living vicariously through all the great crafty moms out there. Here's a great idea by Croq Zine on how to make a toy stove out of a plastic storage container. Once your kid is done playing, just place all the play food and utencils inside! If anyone has more craft ideas on kids' kitchens, please leave a comment!

there was a really great guest crafter on martha a month or so ago that showed how to make a play stove out of a file box, some condiment-to-go cups and lids and some old cds. it was one of the more economical crafts for an everyday kind of mom and household. i'm sure you could find it on their archives.

This sounds cool! I'll have to check Martha's archives.

Boxfresh

When I was a kid, I had a ton of toys all stored in a washing machine box. I tipped all the toys out, turned the carton upside down and made it into a house. After a while my dad took pity and cut me a door and windows!

Play Kitchen on the Go

When our daughter was small she had a tiny play stove about the size of a tissue box she'd take to restaurants. While we were waiting for our food she would color and shred scrap paper into "salads" or whatever else she felt like cooking. This little portable stove from a box would be great for that kind of thing!
