I saw this charming cutting board bird feeder how-to a few days ago on Treehugger and just haven't been able to get the image out of my mind. It's use is obviously limited to those people who have birds as pets (or cut their bread outdoors?), but it's a fabulous idea anyway!
It could also be adapted for compost; a friend of mine has a small hole cut into her countertop that feeds directly into a bin below for veggie scraps.
hi they will give you there correct sizes if you tell them the height

Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm planning to start my own blog soon but I'm having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique. P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!

Very nice indeed, I'm sure lots of our friends will check out the countertop.

I'd love to see a picture of the countertop composter... I have some formica that's begging for a compost chute!

OMG. A hole in the countertop for compost? That's genius! No more messy scrap bucket I'm always moving around, no more piles of compost on the counter? A place to just push all the crumbs to? Why didn't I think of that?!
