Empty Wrapping Paper Roll Light Saber
My kids often end up playing with the boxes in which their Christmas gifts came more than the gifts themselves. The same can be said for the cardboard rolls leftover from all the wrapping paper. Marie at Make and Takes shares this Darth Maul Light Saber and a few other ways to jazz up the cardboard tubes for playtime.

HOW TO - Redo a Neckline
Stefanie Japel from Glampyre Knits has a pretty interesting tutorial for how she redoes a neckline on a sweater to make it larger. It never occurred to me that you could do it without frogging.

Chocolate Crackle Cookies
I had been organizing a cookie contest at work for the last few weeks. The contest took place last Thursday. We got 14 cookie entries from 12 different participants, which meant hundreds of cookies to eat. The winning entry was Chocolate Crackle cookies and they really blew the other cookies out of the water. I have never made them, but I am going to try this Epicurious recipe for a holiday party and I will let you know how it goes. Here are some pictures from the contest.

HOW TO - Recycled Bottle Cap Trivet
I really like this idea for a recycled bottle cap trivet--the bottle caps are enclosed and connected with crochet. I'd imagine the metal can help keep your drink warm while it sits, and I like the colorful look.
