French General - The Web Site
The Warp and The Weft - Kaari's Blog

Kaari Meng's shop French General is an oasis of lovely linens, sparkly beads, and vintage notions all tucked away in sweet cottage in the heart of Hollywood. If you can't get there in person, you can console yourself with her beautiful book, French General: Home Sewn. Inside you'll find 30 simple yet stylish projects for the home created from drool-worthy textiles collected from Parisian flea markets and elsewhere. I love how the rustic charm of the projects, such as the Bread-Warming Seeded Bag for the supper table, Washing Mitts made from hemp fabric, and linen-backed Wall Hangings--and the book includes embroidery transfer patterns which add an extra personal touch.

I live to send "fun mail." Mail that isn't necessary, but it hand made by me or my kids, just to let friends and family know I'm thinking about them -- and they can have the glee of seeing something beautiful in their stack of mail. Your stationery is lovely and timeless.

love, sarah
