Mindy Sue Meyers Stitchalicious Show

Fibers artist Mindy Sue Meyers is having her ASU graduate thesis show opening next Monday, and if you're in the area, there's no excuse not to be there. She creates delicious soft sweets and skillfully crafted domesticities like aprons and faux-foods. I'll be going and taking pictures to share after the opening. Mindy writes:

In my artwork I explore themes of comfort and security by making sculptural objects that represent sweets. I make large quantities of treats from household items that may look tempting at first, but their materials, abundance, or size can leave one feeling quite sour. I draw inspiration from vintage cookbooks, Betty Crocker, and Martha Stewart.
