One of my favorite artists, Susie Ghahremani (of boygirlparty fame), is having a solo show called The Wild Life, featuring her unmistakably sweet, detailed, and gorgeous gouache paintings. If you're anywhere near Los Angeles on Saturday night, make sure to stop by the opening reception, which happens from 6:30-10pm. Come early, as the reception will kick off with a haiku contest where viewers are invited to write a haiku based on any painting in the show. The top three haikus will be awarded prize packages sponsored by Giant Robot.
