Bendy Wood Trivet

woodtrivet.jpg

Spotted in the CRAFT Flickr pool: Michelle Mitchell writes:

Hetta, a Swedish company, takes lengths of cork and strings them together alternately with beads to create these long, beautiful, functional treats for the table and the minute I saw them I said "Wow!" Followed by "I can do that!"

I think I say that about twenty times a day, so I totally identify. She took balsa wood strips and strung them together via holes in the middle of each strip. I like the idea of having one big long trivet for a long table; it would be great for dinner parties!
