If you're in the Chicago area, check out the new exhibit, Sugarcraft (June 27-August 9th) at the Kasia Kay Art Projects (1044 West Fulton Market, Chicago). The show revolves around contemporary DIY practices in the arts/ visual indulgence. Using traditional or uncommon materials, including refined sugar, all encourage indulgence in eye candy and a playful conversation about the various aspects of taste. Casual viewers and art connoisseurs alike are invited to engage with both established and emerging artists. There will also be The Candy Shoppe!, a miniature marketplace of items from exhibiting artists and DIY crafters. Don't miss Friday's opening reception from 6-9pm.
