T109Tpavertfinalh
We all know those delicate sewing patterns made of tissue can tear easily. BeSewStylish reader Merille Brown has a great tip to mend tissue paper patterns with wax paper.

In addition if you want to make a pretty sturdy pattern paper try this. Take two sheets of plain white tissue paper, the cheapest kind works well. Use a white plastic garbage bag cut open to a single layer. Sandwich the plastic between the tissues. Use some old newspapers beneath and over the sandwich to protect the ironing surface and the iron. Iron on the cotton setting until the tissue sandwich is fused. Peel away and newspaper that might have gotten stuck together. The result is a very strong pattern paper that will not tear from repeated pinnings. It is translucent so for multiple size patterns you can trace off smaller sizes and save the original for later use. In addition you can fuse lots of other papers for decorative craftiness. It is fun to fuse two different colors of Tissues together for a fun wrapping paper. I have also used it to fuse heavier crafting paper to a lighter weight paper for book covers and card making.
