Amy Long's Fiber Art

I had the opportunity last night to visit Amy Long's MFA thesis show in fibers, and I must say I was very impressed. She uses crochet and hand felted wool to create these unique and very evocative forms. The show will be up until the end of the week in Tempe, AZ. More photos on Flickr.

I was thinking.. Wow that looks just like the Harry Wood Gallery... and it is IN FACT that Harry Wood Gallery! :D I graduated from ASU with a fine art degree. :)

I LOVE the first image, I think they are beautiful and comment #1 really saddens me. How can you read the Craft: blog and make a comment like that Bill?

It amazes me what passes for art nowadays. The pictures you've posted look like ulcerated stomachs.
