Papercraft AK-47

AK47-Paper-Gun-Model-Kit.jpg

This paper model of an AK-47 assault rifle really catches my eye:
"For a new art project, the designer Martin Postler has investigated the history, the aesthetics and the lethal seductiveness of the Kalashnikov. He has freed the AK-47 from its terrible capacity to injure and kill by deconstructing it into a paper model construction set. At the end of the construction process each person can decide if they would like to hang their own AK-47 on the wall, paint it, customize it with stickers or simply burn it. Then ultimately this AK-47 thankfully remains a piece of paper."
It's $30 and available for order online. - [via] Link.

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights declares a well-regulated militia as "being necessary to the security of a free State" and prohibits infringement of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

I wouldn't mind having one even though I have a couple real ones. I could give it a nice paint job and hang it on the wall.

Anyone who thinks guns cause gun violence have obviously never handled a real gun let alone shot one. Besides as Britain and Australia have shown - silly ideas like banning guns just increase gun violence. As Heinlein said, "An armed society is a polite society"

Just LOOK at those recent entries! How to make your own MARSHMALLOWS!? Cinnamon and SUGAR walnuts? BURGER CAKES??

With the amount of people that are obese, do you really need to continue to push items involving food???

/or maybe we should blame the silverware

Gun violence is caused by the same thing as knife violence and pointy-stick violence:

PEOPLE

as the T-shirt says: guns don't kill people, I do

What kind of delusional individual think that a paper gun will cause people to commit violence? Do you have so little control over your own psyche that you think inanimate objects make you do things?

Pathetic.

I think that a weapon designed over 60 years ago is old enough to be appreciated for its aesthetic appeal. Not to mention that subversion is a more powerful force for change than direct opposition.
