Play with different weights of fabric or patterns for this dress. The seams of the dress allow you to match up stripes or plaids in interesting ways. Go for a lighter fabric but be aware that the gathering may be a bit harder to sew. Staystich the Gathering before attaching it to the next pattern piece to make things easier.
