Fussy-Cutting, and yes I believe it is a technical term, is the technique where you center your fabric's motif in a block so that all the patterns can be cut to have the same motif (such as the flowers above). Janet at Primrose Design has a tutorial on how to make your own viewfinder to get the same results instead of having to buy the clear plastic fussy-cut rulers. Link.
