Lisa of the U-handbag blog has a tutorial on how to sew the perfect zipper--in this case, for a boomerang, zippered pouch with pocket and loop. The photos are really helpful and cover all the steps. Link.

I really like the University of New Mexico Extnsion Service guide to putting in zippers (lapped, centered, and pants fly): http://www.cahe.nmsu.edu:16080/pubs/_c/C-221.pdf

And Gorgeous Things at the Sewing Divas blog has a nice tutorial on inserting a centered zipper in clothing
