Kath at Whip Up has linked to a great tutorial at daydreamingonpaper.com on how to make your own journals. The close up photos are great, especially for the techniques on sewing up the binding. [ via ] Link.

Should you reside and breathe for singing competitions, amazing news (absolutely everyone else, really feel free to sigh along with us): The CW is plotting one more one.
On the heels of "The X Aspect," "The Voice," "The Sing-Off," along with the more O.G. "American Idol" comes "The Star Next Door," courtesy of Queen Latifah.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Latifah's on board to develop the series for The CW, which will feature Gloria Estefan and nation singer/songwriter John Wealthy as "superstar mentors." The premise sees "The Star Next Door" conducting "a nationwide look for undiscovered artists on the verge of stardom," with Estefan and Rich traveling "to exactly where the talent is" and coaching the contestants locally in order that they're able to then "represent their house city live on stage in front of America.""The Star Next Door" is set to air this summer on the network, as well as "Breaking Pointe," a reality series about the world of ballet, and "The Catalina," which follows the staff and guests of a Miami hotel.
