I make leaf prints too
I have used leaves and the sun to make photographs on the leaves. Its more straight forward than the above apporach.
If you store the leaves in an album they should last indefinitely.
I also extracted the chlorophyll and painted it onto paper and used that to make photos too.

A few months ago, I saw a profile of artist Binh Danh, who uses this technique in his work. You can find images of some of his work at this gallery site; it's really quite amazing how this works and the images you can create.
